Book 1- Beginning Adventures

Chap 18- Yay!!!!!!

SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I rose off the ground and twirled through the air. My hair whipped my face as I rose higher and higher. I landed, my eyes shut tightly closed, my hands held close to my chest. I opened one of my eyes then the other, soon after looking around. I heard muffled yelling up ahead and I walked carefully towards it, trying to avoid any more air tunnels.

I heard more yelling ahead; a little louder now. A light appeared and 2 figures kept walking in front it.

As I shuffled along the cave wall, trying not to be noticed, I made out the shapes. One was a hedgehog, and the other was a bird. Bird? No. BAT!

Rouge was talking to the hedgehog in front of the Master Emerald; I wish I could figure out who it was. I neared very slowly, figuring out that the shape was.....no!

"IVY! ARE YOU O-WHOA!" I heard Sonic yell as he rose up the air tunnel behind me.

Rouge and Shadow turned to view me. I stood and stared, but why? Rouge took a step towards me and Knuckles came out of no where and tackled Rouge, soon after Sonic ran up next to me.

"Ivy, you okay?" he asked. He saw Shadow and scowled; that wasn't like him at all. Shadow just scoffed.

"Shadow," I peeped. Not really peeping due to the loud arguing between Knuckles and Rouge. "what are you doing here?" I finished asking.

"I-"

"He's helping Rouge steal the Emeralds! I knew he couldn't be trusted!" Sonic interrupted.

"If you would let him finish," I supported Shadow.

"I came to stop Rouge," Shadow state

Behind him, Knuckles was running away from Rouge until they were out of view, then Rouge ran away from Knuckles coming the other way. Oh boy...

I stepped forward and broke the fight up, Knuckles and Rouge still throwing distant punches as I held them back. I gotta say, holding two crazy maniacs back is like holding a bull headed for the red flag.

Sonic came and tugged Knuckles back and Shadow pulled Rouge back.

"Sicko!" Rouge yelled at Knuckles. "I don't get how you can have friends like them Shaddy," Rouge told Shadow.

"Don't call me Shaddy," Shadow responded sternly.

"Um, Rouge?" I peeped, this time ACTUALLY peeping.

"And you are?" she asked, walking over to me and looking up.

"I'm one of Shadow's friends."

"Shadow? Friends with a human? This is news," she replied, turning to Shadow.

"GIVE ME BACK THE MASTER EMERALD NOW YOU STUPID BAT!!!!!!!" Knuckles screamed at Rouge.

"Someone should teach you some manners!" Rouge answered, sticking out her tongue.

"ME MANNERS?! YOU'RE THE ONE WHO STOLE MY PROPERTY!!!!!" he continued yelling.

"SHUT IT KNUCKLES!" I yelled. It was quiet until Sonic whispered "Burned" into his ear, which caused Knuckles to go crazy.

"Shadow, can you break them up please?" I asked, rubbing my head.

"Why? This seems to be working rather well for them," he responded, a slight grin on his face.

I narrowed my eyes and showed an annoyed expression, which made Shadow go break up the fight.

Sonic and Knuckles were creating a large dust cloud and when Shadow walked in, he flew across the room.

"We should leave them alone..." Rouge said, walking gracefully out of the chamber entrance.

I followed and grabbed Rouge'd shoulder. "Rouge, I need to talk to you."

"Okay..."

"We need that diamond and the Master Emerald back."

"But why?"

"Um, because it isn't yours. Besides, the Master Emerald is very important."

"Fine. I'll give back the Emerald but I'm keeping the diamond."

"We need the diamond."

"Then I'll trade."

I didn't have anything to trade her, other then the necklace I wore at the moment. But that was a birthday present!

"Diamond for that necklace," Rouge said.

Sigh. "Fine." I un-clipped my necklace and she handed me the diamond.

We walked back into the chamber, seeing Sonic on one side of the room and Knuckles on the other, both dazed. Shadow was wiping his hands, showing that his job was done.

"Are we ready to exit this cave now?" Shadow asked. I nodded and he picked up Knuckles throwing him onto his shoulder, walking out of the cave. I went and picked up Sonic, placing him on my shoulder. I nearly collapsed from the sudden burst of weight. Rouge carried the Master Emerald.

We exited the cave and Knuckles put the Master Emerald back now that he was awake. We all climbed down the rope ladder down to the Earth and walked home.
