As Sonic and I walked down the sidewalk into the Shoppes, I made sure that he wasn't seen. I didn't want him being captured again. After making sure he was okay, I looked up to see a huge crowd of people huddles in a large circle. "Amy and Knuckles might be in there, unless they're staring at a car, which would be unlikely," I said. "You stay behind the crowd while I go in," I instructed him. I felt bad, I felt like I was taking control. But he made a "thumbs up", winked and said, "Okay!" I drempt of him saying that to me forever.
Turns out, inside the circle, Amy and Knuckles WERE inside. Surrounded by the crowd, they were quite frightened.
Amy and Knuckles were back to back. Knuckles had his fists up, ready to fight anyone who dared, and Amy had her hammer tightly in her hands, ready to strike.
"Knuckles, where ARE we?" Amy asked.
"No clue," Knuckles answered.
I squeezed through the crowd, coming up right to Knuckles and Amy.
"There you are!" I yelled. I walked behind them, kneeled down, and put my hands on their shoulders. I whispered to them, "If you want to make it out safe, follow my lead,"
Knuckles shook loose of my grasp, but didn't say anything. As you would expect, he was confused. I stood up and told the crowd loudly, "Sorry folks, siblings," I laughed.
"Those are siblings?" asked a man.
"Why yes! aren't their Halloween costumes great! Come one guys, time to go home."
Knuckles and Amy looked at each other, then followed behind me. As we emerged from the crowd, Amy caught a glimpse of Sonic. She screamed and ran towards him, crying tears of joy.
"Amy, NO!" yelled Sonic as Amy hugged him tightly.
"Oh Sonic, I was so scared! I missed you SO much!" Amy screamed.
Everyone looked at the scene.
"Guys, stop! Calm down!" I turned towards Knuckles. "You tell them, Knuckles," I said.
His eyes were closed, his arms crossed. He opened the eye closest to me, his right eye, and asked," Why should I? And how do you know me?"
"What ever," I answered. "Come on, we have to find Tails."
Knuckles followed, which was weird, for he's the leader in HIS mind. We both turned around again, seeing Sonic and Amy STILL hugging, well, Amy hugging. "Amy, stop!" Sonic yelled.
"Sonic!" Amy responded.
"Oh brother," I whispered to myself.
