STEVE

This place isn't too bad. It's a huge abandoned building. Sam, Bucky, and I are here, but we've had to take precautions and trap that metal arm of Bucky's. It caused some real damage to the government building, mainly people. That's something that is not going to go away easily.

"Hey, Cap!" Sam calls. I leave from my spot in the corner that has a clear view of helicopters up in the sky, most definitely searching for us.

I jog towards Sam, waiting for the hopefully good news. Sure enough, Bucky seems alright besides the groaning in pain part. His eyes are opening and closing, like he's trying to focus on something. He looks up at me with wide and confused eyes. "Steve," he says.

"Which Bucky am I talking to?" I ask him sternly. I'm truly beyond pissed and I want to scream at him, but it wasn't truly him who caused this. It was that guy "interrogating" him.

Bucky smiles a little bit. "Your mom's name was Sarah." He chuckles. "You used to wear newspaper in your shoes."

Wow. He remembers a lot. "You can't read that in a museum." I remember joking with Tori about the newspapers after she was experimented on to cheer her up, but I've never mentioned my family to her. I should at least tell her their names. But then again, maybe she already knows. Between having Howard Stark as her father and working with Coulson, I don't think that there is any information like that that she wouldn't have read in a document somewhere.

"Just like that, we're supposed to be cool?" Sam asks, a little ire in his voice.

"What did I do?" Bucky asks. He seems like he's unprepared for the news, and he's definitely scared.

"Enough," I reply. The thought of what happened to people in that building is terrifying, considering the fact that he was out for blood for a few seconds and then punched Tori with his metal arm with no hesitation all without being in that mindless state.

"Oh, God, I knew this would happen," he sighs. I gulp, sadness beginning to overcome me. "Everything HYDRA put inside me is still there. All he had to do was say the goddamn words."

"Who was he?" I question.

"I don't know."

"People are dead. The bombing, the setup....the doctor did all that just to get ten minutes with you. I need you to do better than 'I don't know.'"

Bucky seems to be hesitating to say something, like he's trying to remember. "H-He wanted to know about Siberia — where I was kept. He wanted to know exactly where."

"Why would he need to know that?" At this point I feel like I'm trying to get words out of a child on why they hurt their sibling. I guess that's kind of what's going on, except Bucky hurt many — way too many — people.

"Because I'm not the only Winter Soldier."

He tells us about the others and what happened — experimentation, person going psycho, the usual.

"Who were they?" I ask Bucky, leaning against a wall while listening to him.

"Their most elite death squad," he answers. "More kills than anyone in HYDRA history. And that was before the serum."

"They all turn out like you?" Sam questions.

"Worse," Bucky says.

Damn, the tantrums they must've had. I would consider us lucky that we got Bucky. "The doctor, could he control them?"

Bucky tries to find the right words to say. "Enough," he finally responds.

"Said he wanted to see an empire fall."
