STEVE
I become paralyzed after Tony's sudden outburst. That was something I never knew. Tori and Tony aren't related. She was adopted. That explains the age difference between them and why Howard and Maria where so old when they "had her."
Tori's blood is boiling. Her trembling fists are clenched at her sides, and she is baring her teeth. Her voice is shaking, but still as cold and deadly as it was before. "So, you've lied to me for almost twenty nine years? Since I was one?"
Tony shifts on the ground, scared out of his mind. "Yes."
This is the second horrible lie uncovered to her today. I can't not feel guilty considering that half of it is my fault.
I see Tori's eyes flash blue as she shoots a ray of ice at him. Now she's beyond pissed, more angry than I've ever seen her before. Tony manages to duck, making it hit a wall. Ice explodes across the tube shaped building all the way up to Bucky. He catches himself before it can reach his toes. I need to distract them so he can get out.
Tony flies up towards me, but I use a string that wraps itself around his throat, sending him back down. Tori doesn't even care about Bucky anymore. Her target is Tony. And she will do anything to get him. So when my shield in knocked down to the bottom of the building by him, she throws it right back up at me, forming an ice wall in front of Tony as it flies back up.
In the meantime, Tony aims to close the lid of this place, which he does successfully. Bucky drops down, and Tony pulls him into a headlock. I leap to knock him down, holding onto them both. It seems like Tori had the same idea too, and we all barrel down to the bottom of the building.
I land, hitting the ground hard. Tori smacks into a wall, then the ground. I can hear her suit shutting down because of the impact, meaning that it's now pretty much useless. She and Bucky lay on the ground, both groaning in pain. Tony stands, and so do I, still ready to fight. He gives me a glare through the suit, a blind murderous glare.
"This isn't gonna change what happened," I tell him, panting.
"I don't care," he spits, shaking his head. "He killed my mom."
"Well, Tori has said the same thing."
"He made me lose her too."
He flies to me, punching me in the face with a grunt. We throw punches back and forth until I finally trap him in a headlock. He blasts something, throwing me on to my back. He pins me down, nearly missing my head by an inch as he punches down.
Bucky hits him in the back with my shield. We all stand on our feet, ready to fight. Bucky tosses the shield to me and knees Tony in the crotch. I throw my shield at Tony, and quickly toss it back to Bucky for him to use. We continue this as Tori winces on the floor yards away from us, slowly bringing herself up with a hand clutching her side.
I'm distracted from watching her and Tony blasts at me, sending me to the wall. He and Bucky fight as I groan on the floor. Bucky pins him to the opposite wall, clawing at his arc reactor. The next thing I see when I look up is Bucky, but his metal arm is no where to be seen. Only the star remains near his shoulder. Tony blasts him again. Buck's down.
I sprint in Tony's direction, my shield held out in front of me to stop the rays of yellow flying at me. A few feet away from each other, I stop walking, reflecting the rays with the shield. The light shoots up, but it's power is still pushing me across the floor. We eventually stop, and I pin him to a wall. I hit his face with my shield repeatedly, the word mercy tucked deep away from my current thoughts.
Tony finally grabs the shield right as I'm about to hit him again. I stare down at it in shock. He knocks it over to the opposite side of the room, leaving me weaponless. He blasts my chest, sending me over beside Bucky. He follows me, still ready to fight. It ends with me back on the ground, clutching my stomach in pain. I look up at Tony, who returns the gaze.
"He's my friend," I pant, laying in front of Bucky to protect him from Tony.
"So was I," Tony growls. He punches me again twice. I lean over the concrete floor, coughing up blood. Tony drags me up, throwing me into a pillar. "Stay down. Final warn—ING!"
Tori comes up behind him, her hand on his back. She's putting ice into him through the cracks in his armor. He turns around and smacks her, sending her to the floor. She groans, holding onto her side gingerly.
I slowly bring myself back up using the concrete pillars. I feel blood drying on my face. Tony stands, waiting for me to reply as Tori lays on the ground, completely done.
I breathe heavily, putting my fists in the air. "I could do this all day."
Tony raises his hand, his suit churning with power. Bucky distracts him by kicking his foot, and he's turned by a foot in his jaw. He gives me enough time to grab Tony by the back of his neck and throw him to the ground. He groans in pain. I lean on top of him, hitting his mask with my shield over and over again. I finally tear off his helmet, ready to hit his face. He puts his arms up in defense, his eyes wide with horror. I hit the arc reactor instead, that word "mercy" coming back into my mind again.
Just before the suit's source of power shuts down, I see Tori's uncovered hand raise up from the ground. Tony shoots a ray with his last second of power at her arm just in time as ice explodes out, going up towards me instead of Tony, her original target.
I feel my veins go cold and my vision transfers from a bright and blinding white into black as I fall to the floor, unconscious.
