I woke up and I looked around and I saw that I was in the hospital. Just then I saw nurse coming towards me and she said
"Hi Kate I need to talk to you"
"What happened?"
"Well you were brought to the hospital by your friends and your water broke and you went through labor too early and you gave birth, too early and your baby is in the ICU. Kate you were really drunk and do you know what drinking can do your baby?
Drinking can cause a lot of problems and have you been drinking throughout your pregnancy?"
"No I was just drinking that night."
"Ok-" Just then mom came in and then nurse left. Mom said
"Kate rose WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? DRINKING,YOUR NOT EVEN OLD ENOUGH TO DRINK,DO YOU EVEN KNOW HOW UNHEALTHY THAT IS FOR THE BABY GROWING INSIDE OF YOU".
"But Mom it was my birthday"
"Kate I don't care"
"Mom can I s-ee my baby?"
"Sure". I got up and we went to the ICU and I saw my baby she was so small lying there. She was 3 pounds and 3 ozs, I just cried. She had cords helping her breath. Mom said
"Kate I have some news."
"O-k what is the news?"
"Your dad is starting to wake up"
"Really?"
"Yes" mom had a smile on her face. I looked at my baby and I loved her and with each day that passes she is getting better.
***2 weeks later***
I got to hold my baby for the first time and as soon as I held her I knew she was mine. I did skin to skin, I fed her for the first time. I fed her for first time and I noticed that she was having a hard time feeding. But with each day passing my baby is getting better. I was falling more and more in love with my baby. I can't believe that Daniel and I made this baby and look at her toes and she is perfect. I think that I like him and I can't believe this feeling of motherhood.
