The full moon rose above the mighty trees at the gathering place, it's cold light on the cats of the five Clans of the forest. "Welcome to the gathering." Foxstar meowed.
"Wait a moment," It was Slatestar who interrupted him. "Where is Onestar?"
"Yeah, where is Onestar?" Bravestar asked seeming concerned.
To everycat's surprise, Feralstorm padded up on the smooth moonlit stone. While Whitestar looked like she wanted to shrink in her pelt, as if she were harboring something dark, her dark green gaze almost to the sky at the moon. "Has something happened to Onestar Feralstorm?" Foxstar asked the tan tabby deputy. "He is too weak to travel." Feralstorm replied. The WolfClan deputy looked different. He had a shredded ear and a scar along his flank. What had happened?
"We hope he will get better." Bravestar meowed.
"As do I but StarClan is with us all. May I go first?" He asked the other leaders. It was Whitestar who gave him the go ahead with a flick of her white tail.
"WolfClan has two new warriors. Pinefur and Deerleg." He announced. The WolfClan cats cheered their names. "I have fulfilled Onestar's duties until his recovery." He finished.
The leaders nodded their heads.
Whitestar padded up next. "ViperClan is doing well. Snake patrols have been running fine. However, we have lost an elder, Flameshadow.." She bowed her head for a heartbeat. "But, my daughter Windfur is expecting kits." Her voice carried a bit of happiness.
Purrs echoed through the Warriors of ViperClan.
Then Foxstar padded up to share. "AshClan is doing well. Darkpoppy has given birth to two kits, Scorchkit and Gorsekit. But, we have lost Wind, one of AshClan's greatest warriors.." He bowed his head as a sign of respect for the dead elder.
Bravstar was next. "My mate and deputy Leopardheart, had her kits. In other news, we have an abundant amount of apprentices, Flowerpaw, Raccoonpaw, Eaglepaw, Sprucepaw, and Tigerpaw." He mewed. The TimberClan cats cheered the names of their apprentices.
Slatestar padded up. "ScarClan is doing well. We have had challenges from kittypets for prey but they've moved off. Prey is being hunted well." He told the cats of the five Clans. The cats nodded and murmured. Some ViperClan cats looked to be murmuring to themselves. While the WolfClan warriors were all close together, glaring at the snake catching Clan. Bravestar saw Feralstorm narrow his eyes at Redflame, a russet colored warrior who looked down in embarrassment. The tom padded down the stone and talked to him;not knowing what he was saying, but it must have been something that made all of his clanmates be quiet. Whitestar leaped from the stone and to her Clan, flicking her tail for them to leave the gathering.
"What do you think that was about?" Flintnose asked Bravestar.
The brown tabby tom shrugged. "Foxstar. I must speak with you after this." He told him. "As you wish." The ginger tabby meowed.
"Then I want you to speak with my daughter Hollowkit." He told him.
"Me?" He echoed.
"Yes. You or your medicine cat." The TimberClan leader told him.
Bramble padded up. "My presence was requested?"
"I brought my daughter with me tonight." He gestured to Hollowkit, who was close to her mother. Bravestar nodded and Hollowkit bounded foward. "I wanted to know more about the starry she-cat named Emperess!" She mewled.
"Ah.. she was once a kittypet. She joined ScarClan and became it's medicine cat after Crimson left AshClan then gained the nine lives of a leader." She explained.
"And she died from an attack right?" Hollowkit asked the black she-cat.
"Y-yes..." Bramble mewed almost surprised at how much the kit knew. She looked to Barkpelt who padded over to them. "Does she..?" She was too shocked to finish the question. "Would I ever lie about a cat who holds such an ability?" The brown tom asked the AshClan she-cat.
Hollowkit looked at Barkpelt. "Ability?" She asked.
"You have a gift Hollowkit." He told her gently. "What do you mean?" She asked the medicine cat.
"You can see the spirits of cats." Barkpelt replied.
While they were talking, Bravestar looked to Foxstar. "I must take my Clan to it's camp Bravestar. May StarClan light your path." Foxstar told the TimberClan leader.
"Of course Foxstar, May StarClan light your path." He told him.
The ginger tabby padded with his deputy and cats on the way back.
