Rue-

"Run, run, get to the stairs!" My dad hollered as he ran down the long hallway, shooting his AK-47 back at the large cluster of Walkers coming up behind him. We started to run toward the stairs, Walkers coming from the other end of the hallway also. I turned to see my dad get overwhelmed by walkers but he continued firing his weapon, and hollered loudly, making it echo through the halls. When I ran back to help, my mom stopped me.

"Dad!" I yelled back at him, then everything faded away and I was alone staring at my dad's torn up backpack." Dad." I whispered. That's when I looked up and saw my dad standing off in the distance, his face shaded over," dad!"

I jolted up in bed, seeing that I was at home, in Daryl's bed. Daryl was looking at me concerned. I turned away, and dropped my face in my hands taking deep breaths. He touched my back making me jump, I sighed and pushed my hair back still avoiding eye contact with him.

"You okay?" His hand burning on my back. I nodded solemn." Nightmare?" He asked sitting up, moving closer to me.

"I don't know?" I put my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arm around me." I think my dad is still alive." I stated.

"What do you mean?" He looked at me." You said your dad didn't make it." He said gruffly.

"I think he did, when I went back for his pack, there wasn't remnants of an eaten body, only dead walkers." I explained.

"If he was alive, what if he was bitten?" Daryl spat out the ugly reality.

"What if he wasn't though, what if he was alive and well?" I looked at Daryl.

"What're you saying?" He grumbled.

"I want to go find my dad." It felt like that sentence lingered for a long while.

"Okay, but you can't do this alone." He hopped out of bed," get dressed, I'll go talk to Rick, see what we can do." He pulled on a sleeveless button up shirt, I turned away, and he pulled on his jeans, then he went downstairs.

I went to my room, and saw my dad's bible sitting on my bed, a pen marking a spot. I had never opened this thing, I don't know why. I pulled on my skinny jeans, my dad's holey Punisher shirt, grabbed my brother's hoodie, strapped on my belt, then slung my bow and arrows onto my back. I quickly hopped down the stairs and out the front door, Daryl and Rick talking on Rick's front porch. I went over and they shook hands.

"Ruth." Rick greeted me.

"Hey." I looked back and forth at them," so?"

"I agree with Daryl, you can't go on this search alone, we need to get you a team put together." Rick said to me.

"Who did you have in mind?" I crossed my arms.

"Jesus, Sasha, Daryl, and Michonne." Rick said all leaderly.

"You ain't comin'?" Daryl looked at him.

"No, not this time, I need to stay here and lead these people, if the Saviors are no longer under Dwight's order, we need to keep this place guarded." Rick put his hands to his belt.

"Alright, we'll talk to Jesus and Sasha." Daryl said adjusting his crossbow onto his back.

"We'll get the RV loaded up with food, water, and supplies." Rick handed Daryl a radio.

We went over to our porch and Daryl spoke into the radio." Hey mornin' anybody there?" He waited a while.

"Jesus here, who's this?" He asked.

"Daryl, we got a mission for you and Sasha." He spoke with strength in his voice.

"What is it, just a supply run?" He said.
