Maria's POV
After dinner we went back to the hotel, where I had the high honor of bunking on Adele's couch. I tried to find a good time to talk to her, but she was spending time with Angelo and I didn't want to interrupt it, as I know she gets little of that time. I mostly just hung out, looking at my phone and calling my parents to say goodnight. However, I had a really hard time falling asleep because of the new environment. Eventually at two in the morning I thought it was pretty ridiculous, so I went to ask Adele if it was ok to walk in the hallways."Can you not sleep?" She asked
"No, but walking usually helps so I'll just..." I trailed off, backing away towards the door.
"Do you want me to sing to you or something?"
"No, no you look tired, please I'll just be a few minutes."
"Oh Maria, don't be silly, I'm a mum, I get it. Let's just go back over there and I'll sing you something."
"Oh alright but really, if it's too much I'll be fine, you can't afford to lose sleep, especially not over me." We walked back over to the couch, and tried to get comfortable again. Adele sat down on the edge, and started to sing Remedy. "Adele, can we talk?" I asked.
"Of course love, anything you want."
"Ok well I was thinking about your question and I want to change my answer. Before, I only knew you from interviews and articles and your music, not really you. Now that I've had the privilege of getting to know you, I've realized that you aren't that special. You're so down to earth that it's incredible that people know who you are at all. You are one of the humblest people I've ever known, and let me tell you, you have plenty of reasons to brag. So, while I still love you as a fan who worships the ground you walk on, I now love you as a friend for who you are, not some ideal that sings every other line." Adele continued singing, but I saw the tears in her eyes. I fell asleep, dreaming about my adventures with Adele that were soon to come.
