Chap. 8 Jackpot

Adele's POV
"Listen, girls, I don't think that's a good way to talk about your friend, is it?" I struggled to keep my voice from shaking.
"Who said she was our friend? We certainly didn't." Riley replied with a snort.
Ok bitch it's on now. "Alright listen you little brat. Your about to say "hello" to my Tottenham street side if you don't knock it off in the next second. Oh, confused about what Tottenham is? Why don't you ask Maria? The "ugly nerd" could probably teach you a thing or two, especially manners. Believe me, you need the lesson bitch." After that flew out of my mouth, Riley's mouth dropped open and she stormed away. Lauren stood there for a second, unsure of what to do. After a moment of hesitation she ran after Riley. I'm getting the feeling that this might come back to bite me in the ass, but I frankly don't give a shit. I hope that by me protecting Maria from those assholes they will leave her alone. Speaking of Maria, I still have to find her. It's about ten in the morning you would think there would be a lot more kids and or teens in the park. I scan the area, hoping to see someone who looks to be about 14. Finally I spot a boy who is trying to squirm out of the grip of, guess who, Riley. He gets away and starts walking towards me.
"Hello miss. Oh I'm sorry that was terribly cheesy. I would just like to say it's a pleasure to meet you, may I call you Adele?"
Now that's more like it. A kid who has decent manners.
"Of course you can call me Adele. And it's quite alright I get hello jokes all the time. And what might your name be?"
"It's Liam. Liam Kelly."
I just struck the jackpot.
