Adele's POV
We couldn't get to Maria's house any faster. I feel as though my heart is going to explode if I go another minute knowing she is mad at me. I just hope that she'll hear me out and not end our budding friendship. I ran up the walk with Liam close behind me, him practically dragging Riley. I rang the doorbell about five times and then paced back and forth on the stoop. Andrew finally came to the door after what seemed like hours. "Good you're here." He peered at who was behind me and said, "Liam, Riley." very curtly and significantly more icy than when he addressed me. I walked in and turned to Liam, "Alright you stay down here and me and Riley over here will go upstairs."
"Alright," he said, "send my best to Maria." I walked up the stairs, pulling Riley along behind me.
Andrew's POV
I sat with Liam on a stool at the kitchen island. "So," he said, "it's been a pretty crazy day, hasn't it?"
"Yeah, it has." I reply, trying to remain as emotionless as possible.
"Is something bothering you?" Liam asked.
"Besides the fact that my sister has had a ginormous crush on you for the past few years and you've done nothing but effectively break her heart with Riley, no nothing's bothering me at all."
"Wait, Maria has a crush on me? I always thought she was afraid of me! I have a crush on her too!"
"Well why don't you stop being a numbskull and do something about it!" I practically shout. "Ask her out or something!"
"You know what? I will! As soon as she and Adele are friends again, I'm going to ask Maria out!"
Maria's POV
This has turned from an average day to an amazing day to one of the worst days of my life. I can't believe that my idol, the person I've loved for years, could turn her back on me so hard and fast. I feel played. I also feel really fucking cliche, just lying here face down on my bed. You know what? No. I'm not going to cry over this any longer. Adele doesn't deserve anymore of my tears, and Riley hasn't deserved any in the first place. I swiftly got up out of bed, dried my eyes with a tissue, and sauntered over to my door. I threw it open, only to find Adele and Riley standing behind it. I slammed the door, locked it, and ran back to my bed. Maybe they would get more of my tears after all.
