Charlie's Point of View •• 3rd person
She's been waiting patiently by the phone all day long, and sooner or later she's bound to burst, losing all the patience she's managed to collect thus far. It's almost three in the afternoon and according to Calum's latest message, he should be arriving in thirty minutes.Even though she offered to pick him up from the airport he refused to let her. All he asked was for an address which she was hesitant to give, but did so nonetheless. Obviously this whole thing would be pointless without an exact destination.
She sighed heavily as she racked her brain for something to do until he arrived. Her eyes scanned the room around her coming up empty. It was moments like these where she wished she lived in a more intriguing city. Or a more intriguing house at least.
The only thing she could possibly think of was to take a shower. She had just taken one yesterday, but figured it couldn't hurt to freshen up even more, so that's what she did.
Her feet travelled up the stairs and into the bathroom within her bedroom. She quickly turned on the shower and waited for the water to heat up before getting in. As she worked the shampoo into her hair she sang quietly to a song that was playing inside her head. Normally she would belt out to numerous songs playing from her phone, but since she forgot to set up her Pandora, this would suffice.
Fifteen minutes passed before she was done, and once she hopped out she quickly dried off and got dressed. It wasn't as though she had to dress overly fancy to meet him, so she decided on her favorite pair of ripped skinny jeans and a white v-neck. Simple and casual — just the way she likes it.
Once she was finished drying her hair and styling it properly she glanced at the clock.
3:25
Her eyes widened at the sight. There was only five minutes until he arrived. Well, hopefully.
She's hoping that he won't run into any traffic. It would seem idiotic to think there'd be a major backup at this time, but you never know in her town. People love to leave work earlier than they're supposed to.Ding dong.
At the sound of the doorbell, she froze.
He's here.
Calum's Point of View •• 3rd person
He groaned as he heaved his bag onto his shoulder. It had fallen off slightly due to the heavy weight. Even though he'd only be here for 24 hours, he packed way more than what was needed. It killed him that he couldn't stay any longer than that, but that's all he could manage with such short notice. He's lucky he even got that.
Unfortunately, management was being a pain. They had found out what Calum was planning to do, and were quick to allot him the tiniest time slot imaginable. It's as though two days away would've been detrimental to the band's public image.
He shakes his head to rid his mind of the negative thoughts and tries to focus on the positive. Despite all he's gone through to get here, he's made it. He's standing on Charlie's front doorstep waiting for her to answer the door.
A giddy smile overtakes as he sees the doorknob turn; however, it disappears once he sees whose on the other side. He's standing face to face with a guy not much older than him.
"Hi," he says, looking at Calum suspiciously.
"Hey," Calum greets awkwardly. Charlie didn't mention anything about this guy who he can only hope is a brother. If he's a boyfriend then this is certainly an awkward situation. "I, uh, I'm looking for Charlie?"
"Really? Cause you don't sound so sure."
At first, Calum thinks he's being a jerk about it, but once the stranger cracks a smile, he changes his viewpoint.
"She's upstairs. I'd let you in, but I don't want to let a stranger in the house. My parents would kill me if I did. So, who are you?"
"I'm Calum. I'm not sure if she's mentioned me, but," before he can finish he's cut off by a sudden female voice.
"Oh my god. Sam, why are you always around when I don't want you to be," she groaned.
Her eyebrows were knit together and her eyes glared evilly at the guy stood next to her, who Calum has yet to identify. He has a name but not a connection to the flustered, yet beautiful girl in front of him.
After a moment, she finally glances in his direction, her mouth falling wide open.
"Cal," she smiled, immediately recovering from the shock she previously displayed.
Her picture on twitter certainly didn't do her any justice whatsoever. The girl he's seeing today is much more mesmerizing than the digital representation.
"Charlie," he breathed, "I found you."
