Charlie's Point of View
I've been staring at the screen for almost twenty minutes now, and I've yet to believe that somehow, someway I've hacked into Calum Hood's account. It doesn't make sense how I could do such a thing, so I decide to ask for some assistance in figuring it all out. I quickly pull out my phone and dial my best friend Amelia. She's bound to freak out once I mutter the words Calum Hood, but as of right now I don't have any other ideas.
The phone rings four times before I hear her voice come through, saying, "Hello, hello my dear." She's always been a very optimistic, peppy person no matter what time of day it is, which I've always loved about her.
"Ames, hey, what're you doing right now?" I ask, getting straight to the point.
"Depends on how it'll affect what you're doing," she pauses, "I could be laying on my floor, doing absolutely nothing, or I could be in a spaceship orbiting the Earth."
"Even though the latter would be really amazing, we both know you're definitely on your floor doing absolutely nothing," I laugh.
"You know me all too well, Char, so what's up?"
Just as I had suspected, she goes bonkers the minute I speak his name. I give her a minute or so before I continue speaking since I'm just that nice. However, once I explain the situation at hand, the line goes silent.
"Ames? You still there?" I'm sure she's perfectly fine, yet I can't help but think something's happened. "You know, I called for some advice on what to do, and deafening silence isn't exactly what I bargained for."
"Yeah, yeah I'm here. I-I'm sorry," she mumbles, "It's just, woah, Charlie this is unbelievable."
"Tell me about it," I sigh.
As she composes her thoughts, I search through his account a little more. There are so many messages and notifications that I can't imagine him actually reading them all. It's depressing to know that even if he wanted to go through each and everyone, there's just no way he could. It's physically impossible.
The notifications consist of likes, retweets, and so many original tweets pleading for follows. As I scan through them, I realize that I know some of these girls, and I've followed some of them for quite sometime. They've come to me asking if it'll actually happen one day, if he'll actually notice them out of the millions that follow him.
Even though I'm not nearly as optimistic as Amelia, I always give them the best advice I can -- it will happen one day. Someday he'll read their tweet and tap their follow button.
It's fascinating, really, that a simple tap of a button can change a girl's life forever, and in that moment something sparks in my mind.
For right now, I'm him and I could follow these people. I can change their lives forever by tapping that single button.
I'm sure he wouldn't mind.
