Chapter 2 Nichole
Two days flew by since Christmas. They had the month off. A lot can happen in a month. I decided to finally open the gifts in Lottie's room. She helped me carry them over to my room. We sat on the floor. "So which one should I open first?" She shrugged before pointing to a box from Italy. I placed it in front of me and carefully opened the top. Inside were black riding boots with silver buckles. Lottie smiled.
"I might have to borrow those." I laughed and set them aside. I picked up the next package that had a stamp from Australia. I knew what was inside without even opening it. I pulled out a stuffed koala. I continued to go through all the boxes from different countries. Spain, France, Germany, Ireland, America, Japan. Everything was different. Once I got up and showered I decided to finally show off my gifts. I wore a floral belly shirt from Japan. I paired that with a black leather jacket from America, a pair of dark skinny jeans, and my boots from Italy. I put my necklace on and a cute set of dangly bracelets from Ireland that were green and pink. I pulled my hair up in a cute sock bun. I added a light pink eye shadow, sparkly black eye liner, mascara, and a light pink lip stain. Once I was satisfied I grabbed my purse and headed out of my room. I was halfway down the hallway when Louis stepped out of his room. He looked up right before he walked into me. His eyes raked over me and he smiled. I blushed wishing I would've never opened the presents.
"You look nice babe. Where are you going?" The sound of that name coming from his mouth made me want to go back to how we were, but we can't. The past is in the past.
"Thanks. I'm going to go tanning and then probably shopping since I haven't shopped for myself in months." I smiled acting as if this wasn't a huge deal. He nodded.
"Can I come?? My eyes must've jumped out because he felt the need to justify. "We haven't talked in forever, plus I feel cooped up in my room." He stuck his hands in the pockets of his skinny jeans. I swallowed and controlled my breathing.
"Are you sure? It'll probably be boring." I laughed nervously. He waved his hand in dismissal.
"Nothing's boring if you're there." I nodded and ignored the heat in my cheeks.
"Alright then. I'll go tanning last." I walked past him searching in my purse for my keys. I felt something slide out of my back pocket making me jump. I turned around to see Louis smirking holding up my poop and toilet paper lanyard.
"I'll drive." He winked and I closed my eyes as he passed me. This day was never going to end.

"So which store first?" Louis asked once we closed the car doors. Then ride was peaceful and strangely not awkward. The more time I spent around him the more we acted like nothing had happened.
"We might want to save Deb's and Delia's for last because that's where I'll spend all my money." The mall wasn't crowded, so Louis wasn't worried about the fans.
"I can buy it." I shook my head.
"No it's okay." He nodded. We walked into Claire's and instantly I saw their One Direction display. I smiled waiting for him to walk close enough before I screamed. "Oh my gosh! I want you to buy this for me!" I threw a notebook at him that had the boys' faces plastered on it. "And this!" I threw a necklace that said 'Louis'. I picked up a bag. "This one's my favorite." I pointed to Harry's face. I put all the stuff back while we were dying laughing. I moved to look at the jewelry. "These are cute." I held up earrings that were dream catchers. I bought them and a Louis bracelet that I picked up when he wasn't looking. We made our way to Deb's skipping over Delia's so that we could make our trip short since we saw some fans in there. I was in heaven the moment that I walked into Deb's. Louis smiled.
"Whatever you're getting in here I'm buying." I was about to disagree, but he gave me a look that told me it was worthless.
"This is why I didn't want you to come." He raised his eyebrows.
"I thought girls loved free things. Especially clothes and food." I nodded.
"Yes girlfriends do." I tried to make my point. "This whole day is going to backfire on you and Eleanor. He shook his head.
"I don't care about her. I can't stand to be near her." I smiled knowing how he truly felt. It made me feel better about myself. "Plus I want to spoil you." I closed my eyes and stopped sorting through the racks.
"Louis." He held his hands up.
"Too far too soon. I understand."
"Thank you." Thirty minutes later he was standing in the checkout line with twenty items. Ten tops, seven bottoms, and three pairs of shoes. He just made it up to the counter when a startling noise caught my attention. Some girl in the doorway shrieked and she was looking straight at Louis. I tapped his shoulder and pointed towards the doorway. Worry crossed his face. "Um excuse me?" I asked the lady bagging my clothes. "Not to be rude, but the faster you bag those the quicker we get out and that needs to be before the swarm of girls invade the mall." She looked up confused, but her eyes looked at Louis and a look of recognition hurried her up. By the time we made it out of their it was too late. In order to get to the car we would have to push our way through hundreds of girls. Louis looked at me.
"Hold on to my hand. Do NOT let go. Keep your head down and look at the road. I'll get us to the car." He took my bags and held my hand in his free one. "You ready?" I nodded and he opened the door. The intenseness of the screaming made everything silent. I forgot to keep my head down, so the girls were accidentally smacking me in the face with their phones. Constant screams like 'Will you marry me?' or 'Louis!!' but the best one was when I heard one clueless directioner yell 'Where's Eleanor?!'. Louis squeezed my hand and I knew he heard it too. The car was in view. People kept snapping pictures of me, so instead of looking like I was terrified, which I was, I smiled and waved with my free hand. Most of them smiled back, but a few knew who I was and scowled. A few tried to pry me and Louis apart, but he would only hold on tighter. My chest was against his back and he quickly opened the car door and gently put me inside before climbing over the hood to get to his side. Once he was in he looked over at me. "You should probably get used to this craziness." I looked out of my window. Girls' faces were literally pressed against the car window. How did they not know that they look like a pig when they do that?
"This is insane." Louis smiled his cocky smile at me.
"Says the one who bought a 'Louis' bracelet. Maybe you should stand out there and join them." My mouth dropped, but he just laughed before carefully backing up and driving away.
