Tyrion

Tyrion had no idea what to say to Sansa since he had reunited with her...not that he ever had.

"Lady Sansa, is everything okay? You left dinner so abruptly."

"I wasn't prepared for this. I was told that we were going to Winterfell or Mereen...instead I find myself back at Kings Landing confronting terrible memories."

"I know...and about that, I'd like to apologize for my sister...that comment she made about your father-"

"Why should I trust you Lord Tyrion?"

"I told you...it's just Tyrion."

"Well then Tyrion...every single time I think I can trust someone, I learn that they have deeply betrayed me, or will be betray me, or"

She stopped abruptly. Lady Sansa was crying. This poor child had seen so much, so soon. And yet now, she was being vulnerable, and with him. He had to comfort his wife, so he sat beside her, on the bed.

"Lady Sansa...I know that we were wed under the most awkward of circumstances, but I want you to know that I took those vows very seriously; and I"m so glad that you've decided to come back to me."

And she had come back to him...all of her own accord. In fact, now that he was no longer a dwarf, he was beginning to get a glimpse into all of the women that he could probably entice...and even though he was glad to have his wife back, he couldn't help but think about all of the women he could probably bed now...and lady Steffana...and that kiss. It was unlike any other he'd ever had. Kisses from the future. But...now back to Lady Sansa, who was his wife...after all.

"How were your travels with Little Finger? Did he hurt you in anyway?"

"No...not physically, but Lady Steffana showed me that he was involved in the betrayal of my father...and now I despise him and I feel like such a fool."

"Well, despise Little Finger all you like, he has always been such a slithering, slimy little character at court, but you shouldn't feel the fool...you couldn't have possibly known. He is the best deceiver."

"I'm sorry they tried to kill you - your family...lady Steffana told me."

"Well yes...I feel like I owe her my life, but she says that I don't...I would have managed to survive without her, but Oberyn would not."

"I don't know him that well, Prince Oberyn, but I did see the trial by combat...as it would have occurred had Lady Steffana not stopped it. And then, I also saw her version of it...by the old gods and the new...you are no longer a half man. You have new friends, and your own family, it seems, you beleive are your enemies."

"Was it that obvious? I thought I did a very good job at hiding that at dinner."

"I suppose you did, but I overheard your conversation with Lady Steffana...she convinced you to come back."

Lady Sansa, was much changed, and Tyrion coudl see that she was trying desperately to figure out the connections between her new allies...and how much he could trust any of them.

"Yes, well lady Steffana, apparently has many talents, many indeed.'

"You like her, don't you?"

"I don't know if like is the best way to describe it exactly...I owe her, but, I've just learned that she does expect that debt to be repaid, and I hope I'm up to the task."

"Well...she's seems to think  you are...she spoke very highly of you, very highly in fact...I bet she wishes that you were her husband."

It seemed he was entering tricky territory. Women, they had a knack for this thing...a sort of six sense. Lady Sansa, was seemed to be implying that he was involved with Lady Steffana...and he was,  but not in that way. Not yet. Still, Tyrion was amused, as much had changed, and Tyrion coudl it seemed that Lady Sansa might even be a little jealous. He never could have imagined it. Ever.

"I don't know about that."

"she's strange looking, isn' she? And...she's so big and tall...and yet she's-"

"She's sort of purple."

"Definitely purple."

Sansa laughed and Tyrion had forgotten how much he enjoyed seeing her laugh. He'd felt so bad that his family had been the cause of so much of her extreme misery, making her laugh was the best kind of revenge.

"Lord Tyrion, you know, as well as I know, that a marriage isn't valid until..."

"Until it is consumated."

"Yes, that's the word. That hasn't happened yet."

"Yes Sansa, I'm well aware."

"You said, that you would wait for an invitation from me before that happened, and, you have always been so kind to me, I assume that offer still stands."

"Of course, Lady Sansa."

Tyrion replied, somewhat disappointed. But Sansa was still young and she had been through so much, of course...it was only natural for her to be cautious.

"It's not that I don't want to...or that I do...I just don't know...it's all just been so much....and now I'm back here- with you...and you're so tall now."

Sansa looked down, embarassed actually. Tyrion realized that she was afraid, in a way that she hadn't been before.

"Oh Sansa...it's..this is...it has all been a bit much. There's no rush. In good time and on your terms, my lady."
