Steffana

Steffana took out her controller, and with her thumbprint activated the aviaut controls.  Several tabs opened up in the air, in the clearing and Ellaria gasped. Steffana wonderd how long this would continue.

"What are these images hovering about us, like birds! They are not like the other ones!'

"Power of the sky, my friend."

She figured she had better start working that in to her story. She had to explain these concepts in ways they would understand. that was critical. Tyrion offered,

"Those are the words of her house, you know. They have power over the skies, I suppose this instrument is going to show us all what it is."

Tyrion and Oberyn were totally intrigued, meanwhile Ellaria remained suspicious. Steffana fumbled with the controls, trying to get everything all set up.

"And so... this is your aviaut?" Slowly he walked toward it, and marveled at it for a while, but, before long he was rubbing his hands over the aerodynamic fins in wonderment.

"I've never seen anything like it...you say it's a ship, but it doesn't resemble one in the least! How does it work, and where did it come from? The VWIP?"

Aaaah, Tyrion thought that the VWIP could do anything, but giving him that as an explanantion would be better than the truth. How could she in fact explain to Tyrion that she had manifested the machine, with her mind.  Manifesting was incredibly simple in the virtual worlds. But if she told them about that, that would lead to more accusations of witchcraft, or worse yet dealings with devils and demons.

Wasn't that the sort of thing that these ancient types said about powerful women? and not much had changed in the new free world either. It was 4057 and Steffana was plenty demonized. She didn't want to lie to Tyrion, but nor did she want to freak him out with her manifesting powers. So she simply said,

"It's complicated...suffice it to say, in my world we have ways of making things seem to appear, where there was nothing, but there is always something. It's just a matter of making the invisible, visible."

Tyrion looked directly at Steffana. In this world it was super easy to read thoughts, so she read his. He was marveling at  his ability to look directly into her eyes. He aptly noted that she was   well over six feet! This astounded him. As did  seeing the world from such height!  He also knew she was hiding something about this aviaut. How could a virtual person be so smart, Steffana wondered.

For the first time, he began to question her motives. Because the  aviaut was like nothing he'd ever seen, so many questions ran through his mind, like:  How did he know it was safe? How did he know if it could perform as she promised? And even if it could, was she really taking him to meet up with Sansa? And if so, why? What did she have to gain from it? She wasn't even from this world! She had called herself and angel or mercy. But maybe she really was a witch!

Steffana was disappointed, but kept it to herself. She became more attuned to Oberyn, who had no such suspicions, but watched her closely because he had got it  in his head, that he would sail the aviaut. He thought sail, because he naturally, was comparing it to a ship.

The aviaut  looked nothing like a ship, really. If Steffana had to choose something  from their world that resembled it, she'd say a very large sword, except rounder, fuller. It seemed to be made of steel, and of a special sort, Valerian Steel even. What an amazing sight, a ship made entirely of Valerian Steel. She touched it, and magically a door appeared where there had been none and it opened up. She said to Oberyn,

"Come on then, let's learn you how to operate this puppy."

Oberyn jumped at the invitation, and she followed him, motioning for the others follow. Tyrion thought the aviaut was bizarre looking and noted that the inside was even more bizarre looking than the exterior. The floor inside was pure white. Ellaria noticed that it was so soft under her feet. Oberyn was already seated in one of the steering seats.  Tyrion considered how it was so smooth and bright. There was plenty of seating, but he didn't think it was   too comfortable. There were no rugs, no pillows, just these bright, bright red seats, with a soft white floor. He was unimpressed with the sparse accommodations, and so Steffana offered to him,
