When Maria and Danny returned later that night I noticed two things right away:

one that Maria's hair was a mess and she was dripping wet and two the fact that Danny was shirtless and also dripping.

“What the hell happened to you?” Lane asked as she was walking out of the kitchen, drying a dish.

“training.” was all Maria stated as she walked past, a thin smile on her lips as she dashed upstairs.

“Where's the queen bitch and her lover?” Danny asked with a sigh as he sat down beside the crackling fireplace.

“June smacked Vika and Vika ran off crying.” I answered from the kitchen and they both shared a sigh. It was almost like they could feel what each other was thinking sometimes.

“Fuck...great now we're stuck with two whiny ass vampires who got stuck in PMS.” he stated causing both of us to laugh. It was obvious that he didn't care much for Vika.

"Watch your mouth, we have two kids running around here." Jade stated and I glared at him.

"oh like you called a video game a Mother fucker because you got beat by Madi?" I retorted and he blushed before transforming into a bird and flying off.

"Thank you for getting him out of here." Danny stated with a smile however that's all he managed to get out because Madi tackled him from behind.

"Woah! Squirt stop that!" He laughed as he reached behind her and flipped her into his arm and beamed down at her before adding "You could have gotten hurt."

Lane smiled at this and rolled her eyes.

"Madison, go to bed, its Eleven o'clock," She ordered gently then added "If you do I'll go up there to read you another bedtime story."

that's all it took for the little girl to go back upstairs  and Lane chuckled.

"No running in the house!" she called up the stairs rolling her eyes before handing me the plate she was holding.

"Alice, finish the dishes....I've got to get that little munchkin to sleep." she stated kissing my cheek before heading upstairs.

Once it was only Danny and I alone Danny sighed.

"Maria's a good kid you know, you should really give her a chance. I mean onlything a headstrong preteen needs is a kick in the pants to get them to straighten up. Maria's no different." He stated and I sighed.

"But Madi's scared to death of her." I reminded him and he rolled his eyes.

"she won't hurt the kid....trust me on this one."

I did belive Danny, he and Maria seemed closer today so I would test his theory and tomorrow would be the day for it.
