Danny had never seen someone eat with such a speed, though of course he figured that if he had not eaten more than a few rabbits and fish in a week he would be the same way.
"So all you are....bouda?"
She asked, earning a confused look from everyone there.
"If bouda is your culture's equal to were-creature or shape-shifter I guess. Though we don't kill or whatever else. Hell only Maria and Danny hunt in animal form and that's just because they learned to do it ages ago out of necessity."
Lane responded, earning a nod.
"What are you exactly? I don't recognize the scent."
Rune asked, earning a sigh.
"I do not want to say."
The other's just nodded at that.
"Can understand that." Maria muttered, earning a look from Lane who just sighed.
" where are you from? From your clothing it is not from mexico or any other southern american areas." Alice asked.
"Ethiopia. My village....Found out of a bouda...and My mother....sent me on the boat to safe land."
She stated, earning a sigh.
"So it's the same with your people? They think any shape-shifter or supernatural is a killer?" Vika practically hissed
"Yes. When it first happened to me I locked myself in shed. Thought I would hurt my sister and brothers."
Dinah stated earning a sigh.
"Been there." Donica muttered before glancing over at Rune before adding "Let's go. We need to make a supply run. Vika has eaten the last of the garlic bread again."
"Wait, Vampire's can eat garlic?"
Vika just smiled and retorted
"We don't melt with salt, garlic or holy water if that's what you're asking. June hate's it though so I try not to eat it when she's around."
"And she better brush her teeth before coming to bed too." June muttered.
"You are.......lēzibīyani?"
Dinah asked, earning a sigh.
"I think we all are at least Lesbian or bi. Well minus Maria and Madi, who's too young for that sort of thing."
Lane responded, before adding
"Where is Madison anyway? Wasn't she suppose to be home by now?"
Everyone just shrugged.
"We're on an island where the biggest thing that lives here naturally is deer. I am pretty sure she'll be okay." Vika assured
"Still can't help but worry. She's only seven." Danny responded before adding " I'll go find her."
"I'm coming too."
Lane stated.
"I'm telling you, she's fine. Danny, don't let Lane lecture her too much for missing dinner."
Vika stated.
"She won't." Danny assured
After dinner Dinah walked outside, wearing a T-shirt and a pair of jeans that Alice had given her.
She wondered if maybe she wouldn't be judged her since there were vampires here?
Sighing she leaned against the balcony overlooking the beach, seeing the lion that was Danny's shift walking with a small child on his back while Lane walked beside them, talking in a low, amused voice.
They seem so happy. At peace even. But is there peace for someone like me?
"Hey Dinah! We're about to go night fishing. Wanna come with us?"
the girl that she remembered being called Maria asked from the doorway.
"Night fishing? Do you need to transform for that?"
She asked, earning a laugh.
"No. Alice used a rod, I transform and chase the fish but that's just because I like the water. Vika usually just uses her hands."
The teen stated, earning a sigh.
"Okay, no tricks. I want to not change."
Maria nodded "no tricks."
Dinah watched in amazement at the hodgepodge group easily coordinated to get the best results.
"You know you can transform if you want. We don't see demons and monsters you know. Hell most of us felt like demons at one point. I know I did."
Lane stated, coming over to sit by her.
"Even if you turn into a savage?"
Dinah asked, earning a sigh.
"What's more savage than a wolf, Vampire and Lion?"
Lane retorted earning a sigh.
"I show you."
Dinah stood then, slowly undressing before letting out a strangled sound, one that caught everyone's attention.
She hasn't transformed after the first time.
The thought ran through everyone's mind as they watched the young woman transform into a large, hunched, spotted creature.
"A hyena? Now it makes sense."
Danny stated, earning a weird look.
"What? They're rivals to lions."
Maria scoffed at this.
"If you call staring at her boobs rivalry then yeah."
She muttered, earning a cuff on the back of the head by Lane, who rolled her eyes at her sister's statement.
"What? He did!"
The teen yelped, earning a laugh.
"Yeah, like what I caught you looking up on my laptop? Do you not know how to clear browsing history?"
