Reconcile

Everyone was outside playing basketball by the time that I had breakfast and had walked outside. Lane chuckled as she watched her sister try to dodge Danny's playful attacks.

"We're going to restart classes soon....I hope I have a date to the prom." Lane chuckled with a smile glancing my way with that playful, teasing look that she always wore.

"only if you'll stop being miss attack dog everytime someone does something stupid to me." I replied and she blushed and glanced down though she nodded and then tackled me to the ground, that smirk turning into a wide grin before she whispered.

"I'd travel the universe for you."

Then she kissed me, her soft lips pressing warmly against mine as her gold eyes bored into my own--now changing--gaze.

Kissing back I lightly shoved her, just enough to be able to sit up and let my arms hang around her neck.

"I would do anything for you as well." I whispered and she smiled slightly as she leaned in to steal another kiss, eyes sparkling.

"oh how sweet, can you two dykes stop swapping spit and pick sides so that we can continue our game?" Vika stated, smiling.

"oh look who's talking Vik! Come on! I'll take you on one on one!" Lane retorted, her voice booming.

Everyone laughed at this as the two began thier competition, their faux insults ranging throughout the area.

However then the sound of tires came into the driveway and as I turned to see who it was I froze.

"Mom?" I managed to whisper, tears automatically forming in my eyes and Lane moving to my side in a protective stance.

"Alice?" Mom began, looking as if she was seeing a ghost "can I talk to you alone?"

I nodded as I followed her toward the back of the car, only to be pulled into a strong embrace.

"can you forgive me? please? I know I overreacted about you loving her but still....imagine my shock." she stated, tears suddenly in her eyes and I sighed.

"Mom....I forgive you but I will only come home on three conditions." I replied and she nodded.

"what are they?" she questioned and I sighed.

"One: I can come and go as I please." I stated earning another nod so I continued

"Two: Lane and her family is welcomed anytime." again another nod.

"and three, don't ever try to change me."

To my surprise Mom just nodded and I found myself flinging myself into her arms.

"I love you Alice." she whispered, pressing her lips against my temple.

"I love you too momma." I replied in a choked voice.
