* Ava’s POV *

Getting used to coming home to a new house took me a week to realise that I wasn’t the same person who I was a year ago. Last year, I didn’t have a family to come home to and I didn’t share my bedroom with some guy. But this year, it all changed when I met Len Pearce. Not only did I gain a fiancé, but also a lovely child to take care of.

As I come home from work, I found my boys napping on our bed. Their arms were above their heads as their feet were wide open. The beddings all messed up as half of their blanket was already lying on the carpeted floor.

The television was still turned on, Thomas and Friends was playing on the big screen. So I’m guessing the two have been spending the whole day together as toys were scattered around the room. Perhaps Harley gave Len a hard time before agreeing for a nap.

Kissing them on their foreheads usually would wake them up, but now my boys were both peacefully sleeping as my tiredness from work gets washed away in an instant by only seeing them happy. Instead of waking them up, I retreated to a chair beside the bed and read a book.

However, my mind keeps on drifting to that time months ago when I first learned that this house was ours.

-Flashback-

“What does John need help with?” I asked Len as he told me that we needed to drop by somewhere to meet John up.

Harley already wanted to see my dad and Lisa because they have set up some toys for the new baby, which Harley has been playing with, trying it all out for when my little brother would come out. Lisa was due any time soon and so we were about to attend baby shower.

Which is why I’m also wondering why we needed to take a detour as John and Bailey were also invited for that little gathering, so whatever John wanted, he could ask us at the party.

“John’s car is busted and they’re stuck in some friend’s apartment.” Len explained and I nodded.

“Do you even know where you’re going? We’ve been going around in circles for merely ten minutes now, babe.” I chuckled as he rolled his eyes and continued on following the orders of our ever reliable GPS device.

Soon, he parked at someone’s driveway. “We’re here.” He uttered as he unlocked the doors, and pushed that horn, letting them know we have arrived.

“I can see that.” I uttered.

Len turned to his side and looked at me. “Okay, why are you so moody this morning? What did I do?”

I gasped as he accused me of being moody. “Well sorry if I was stating the obvious.” I rolled my eyes.

Len shook his head and went down, ringing the doorbell. Harley and I were left in the car, waiting for the power couple to come out.

After five minutes, he came back with John and told us to go down first. Bailey had an urgent call from work and needed to deal with it first.

Agreeing, I went out of the car as Len unbuckled Harley out of his car seat. Then, we followed John inside the house. As I stepped inside the house, people cheered, surprising us complete a huge banner which says, “Welcome Home Lavaley!” and that just made me so confused.

“Lavaley.” I uttered, trying to remember where I have heard the word, but I couldn’t make out any event.

Bailey laughed.“Len, Ava, and Harley, silly.”

Turning around and meeting Len’s gaze, he smiled at me. It was as if he knew that this was about to happen as he didn’t look surprised or anything.
