* Lenny’s POV *
“What? You two got married?!”
Everyone just dropped whatever they were doing and chanted the same thing like they knew about it and practiced it while Ava and I had gone missing. By the looks on their faces, they were all too stunned about the news, but then a part of their reaction sort of knew it would happen someday, perhaps knowing how Ava and I have been jumping on from one level to another that most of the time, it actually look like we’re playing some game, and wasn’t serious about it.
We get it. We get their point and their concern about my relationship with Ava. It was true, though. For some other couples, they would wait for days, weeks, or even months to decide about something huge that could happen in their lives.
However, that wasn’t the case for us. From knowing each other, it took us over one day to know that we had something special going on between us. From dating to being engage, it only took a few months for us to realise we wanted to be together forever. From our engagement to wedding day, it took us just a fight and one dream to understand how each one was special to another.
If anyone would look at how our relationship was going, I know most people would think we were in a hurry, and rash decisions like these, sometimes do not end up right. I knew that one of the reasons my family was worried about us was because of how Ava and I have been fighting lately, and then the next thing, they would find out we were married.
I laughed, and stopped as Ava took hold of my arm. Worry clouded her thoughts, perhaps knowing how things have gone rough these past few days, blaming herself from all of it, especially after what happened to me.
“Now’s not the time to laugh, Len.” Dad uttered, waking up the other people in the room from being frozen, as if they all had turned into rock statues, which also stopped me from smiling. “You two aren’t joking about this?”
Shaking my head no, dad nodded his head, possibly now understanding the situation in our point of view. Before I could speak up again, I felt Ava’s hands leaving my arm, walking past me as she spoke.
“I’m sorry for everything – for abruptly leaving Len, for getting him worried and sick, for Harley, and most especially, for getting you all dragged into this mess, worrying about us.” She apologised as mum shook her head.
“You don’t have to.” Mum uttered. “It was all Len’s fault he got sick.” Thanks mum. I rolled my eyes, but stopped when dad noticed me, leaving me all smiles.
“Well, congratulations then!” Dad exclaimed, pushing his hand towards me to shake. “Welcome to the crazy and loving Pearce family, Ava!” He said, hugging her as she hugged back.
“I’m sorry too for worrying you all, and to John, for our little misunderstanding at the hospital.” I told everyone as John nodded, moving towards me and giving me a manly hug. Ava cooed watching us as the others laughed of how sweet it was. John even joked about kissing me on the lips which I was totally game for, and surprisingly, Ava didn’t pull me out of it, even cheered of the whole thing.
“Wow! You guys are really twins!” Colin uttered. “One’s fast, and the other one's a..." He stopped as John glared at him.
Soon, our family relaxed as everyone welcomed Ava in, officially that is. While mum decided to head over to the kitchen and prepare some festive meal, Bella and Colin invited us over for some board game. As we were getting ready for the game, we noticed Bailey still frozen to her stance as if she didn’t get a memo that everything was already alright.
“Baby, you alright?” John asked as we all turned our gazes towards Bailey who was standing in one corner of the room.
“I think I’m having the twins.” She uttered. “Now.”
