* Lenny’s POV *
“Wow babe, you must have really tired out Harley, we didn’t even finish-…” She uttered while opening our bedroom door. She gasped as her eyes wandered around the room, taking into account how different it was from the usual style, which was supposed to be all white, simple and fresh. But tonight, it was another story, another memory that we can on to our happy moments, adding more color into our lives. “...the bedtime story.”
Colorful lights surrounded the room as small candles were visible on each corners. Petals of roses trailed from the door towards the bed. In the middle of the bed, rose petals were shaped as two hearts, like they were knotted together on one side. The bigger one represented me as I was hugging a smaller heart, which symbolized my girl, Ava.
But I’m not saying that I had a bigger heart than Ava, it was just to represent how much I would do to protect her and our children.
Instrumental and relaxing music can be heard, calming our bodies. Although as I looked up to face Ava, it was the opposite of what I had expected as she was in tears. In my mind, I kept on wishing that it was because she was happy and was just surprised of it all.
Picking up the champagne glasses from where I was standing, I moved towards her, giving her the other glass. She took it as her eyes landed on mine, possibly asking what I was doing.
To be honest, this wasn’t the plan, but after today’s talk with Harley, I had been inspired and reminded how fast Ava and I’s relationship has been these past few weeks that she might think she’s not that special to me anymore, when in fact, it was the opposite. And tonight, I wanted her to feel that nothing has changed between us. Until now, she’s my world and ever since finding her again, my life had changed for the better.
“Shh babe, don’t cry.” I uttered, wiping her tears with my free hand, assuring her that everything’s alright.
“What are all of these for?” She asked as one of her arms flapped into the air, my eyes landed to whichever way her finger pointed at. Moving past me, she walked towards the bed and her hand trailed on the sides, feeling the material as her eyes were busy around the room. “I mean, babe, I’m already a Pearce. I’m yours, forever!”
I nodded at her statement. She was right, though, but it wasn’t what I meant. “I know, babe. But it’s not that.” I uttered. Placing down the glass on the nightstand, my hands cupped her face as I leaned in for a sweet kiss.
Pulling back slightly, she spoke. “You’re amazing, you know that, right?” She giggled, leaning back in for another round. Her lips captured mine in an instant as I made sounds of approval, moaning happily as we savoured each other’s taste.
“Mhm…” I released a sound, and it reminded me how I’m getting off track here, waking me up from my hypnotized mind as I pulled away, completely. It wasn’t the best idea, and I felt bad for it, but I knew I had to say what’s on my mind. “Everything is for you! To let you know how special you are to me.”
Ava laughed. “Babe, I already know that. But thank you, this is amazing.”
“Do you know what it’s for? Other than to make you feel special?” She shook her head no as I took the opportunity to let her sit on the bed while I explain.
Kneeling down in front of her, she gasped again and I kind of panicked, waving off any idea in her mind. She might thought I was asking her hand again in marriage. I laughed, because that’s how I looked like right now. “No, no, it’s not that. I mean, of course, I’d marry you again and again, and I’ll never get tired of it…” I ranted off as she silenced me with a peck on the lips.
