* Ava’s POV *

Getting up in the morning has always been a problem to me since I wasn’t really a morning person. However, this time it felt different as I didn’t want to get out of the bed, making me want to sleep longer. Whenever I try to get up, it felt like a huge ton of weight was strapped into my body, not allowing me to even sit for just a minute. Going to work used to be my inspiration each morning, but now it wasn’t helping me. Instead, my bed was winning at how he was succeeding on calling me back.

I guess the house Len chose felt too homey that I didn’t even want to leave. It was kind of annoying how I would love to get out of the house and start my productivity going, but hates the way the bed was controlling me.

“Hey babe, it’s almost nine. Aren’t you going to work?” Lenny asked when he went back to the room and found me still in bed.

“Do you think I’m not trying to get up?” I rolled my eyes as I tried once again, but got infuriated with the whole thing.

Len was taken aback by my response and I hated how I’m actually turning on the bad mood lately, especially when things hadn’t gotten my way. As much as it sounded way off, I wasn’t doing it to piss him off or pick up a fight. It just comes out as it is.

“I’m sorry.” I uttered. “The bed just won’t shut up.” I frowned as he laughed. “I just want to lie in bed the whole day. It’s not funny!” I exclaimed. “How am I going to finish the orders?”

Len scooted beside me as I leaned towards him, resting my head on his chest. With his hand rubbing my back, I felt like I wanted to sleep again. “Now I’m wondering what you did last night for you to be so sleepy.” Len teased as I slapped him.

“Oh you know what happened.” I uttered as he chuckled.

“Indeed, babe.” Len kissed me on the forehead, like he usually does. “I can always help you out.” He teased.

“Mhm babe, you’re making me sleepy even more.” I uttered as I closed my eyes and drifted back to space.

Whispers around the room became present as I instantly got up from the bed as if I’ve just heard the fire alarm sounded off. Len and Harley looked at me stunned at how I reacted and when I checked my phone for the time, I felt my heartbeat leaping in the air.

It was already one in the afternoon, which means I’ve slept longer than I planned, missing a day at work. Immediately, I stood up from the bed and rushed to the bathroom to freshen up. Len followed suit, asking me if I was alright or if I dreamed of anything.

“I’m fine. Just really needed to get to the store and check on things.” I explained.

“I’ll drive you.” Len offered as I gave him a smile in return.

Once we were all ready, Len started the car and drove off, heading towards my store. We arrived in ten minutes and when I got there, Cece was surprised that I even came in. She thought I’d take the day off after I left work early yesterday.

“I can always call you if there are any problems.” Cece told me as Len gave me a questioning look why I didn’t told him that I wasn’t feeling well yesterday, instead of telling him that I’ve been stressing out at work.

Once Cece checked on the items that needed my approval, Len, Harley and I waited inside my office. Harley rushed towards his toys as Len sat in my chair, pulling me on his lap. “Why didn’t you tell me you weren’t feeling well?”

“I was fine. Just stressed out, I promise.” I uttered as I was checking paperwork needed for the store.

“But something could have happened to you and I wouldn’t know.” Len countered as I was shivering to his breath to the way he was fanning my neck. “No secrets, remember?” He told me as I nodded.
