Selwyn's memory - 10 years ago -My body is still hurt even though it has been a week since that night. Only I and a few of my men who survived from the sudden attack. We were on a war with Ochrean Tribe. That was fast and brutal. We were lucky to be able to escape the silent death because we haven't slept yet when the attackers came and spread the poisoning gas. I felt dizzy from the moment I inhaled it. So I covered my face and walked outside to find out what's happening, but I only saw dead bodies everywhere. Hundreds of soldiers just died in a minute while the others - who survived the gas - died after getting a stab from the attackers.
I still regret my decision until now. I should have stayed there until the end, to fight them. Maybe I could save many people. But I chose to flee with a few soldiers near me at the time. We may have lost the battle that night because of that sneaky attack, but the war is not over yet. I need to recover and go get some revenge for my fallen comrades.
The horrible memory fades when I hear footsteps and a crack voice from the door. A woman in a white robe has entered my room. She is my healer.
"Good morning, Captain. It's time to have a breakfast and then you must take your medicine." She said while preparing it. "And here is a letter for you."
As soon as I open it, I know that this is a chance that I have been waiting for. The letter is from General Akura. It said that he wants me to go to a small village, near a big city who had been taken off by the Ochrean Tribe. Alone. My body becomes lighter after read it, but my mind feels uneasy. Why am I going there alone?
Two weeks later, I arrived there.
A big figure in armor welcoming me with a wide smile which made me wary. "Captain Selwyn! You have finally arrived. I was wondering when will you come here."
He is the great General of Cerulean Empire, Akura. He is the type of person who always in rage on whatever situation, so a smile doesn't suit his face very well. Besides that, I don't see many people here. It's barely quiet for a war camp. I'm a bit alert by this kind of weird situation.
"General, where are the others?" I asked him.
"They are in that tent. Let's go in and we can start to discuss our strategy. I've heard that you are a brilliant tactician. Perhaps you'll share some brain of yours at the meeting."
"It's not that I'm brilliant. I'm just a lucky person."
"Don't lower yourself like that, Captain. I'm sure you can bring us a victory in this war."
"I hope so. I'm sorry if I'm rude General, but you still not answer my question. Where are the soldiers? I just see a few men here. We are not going to attack with these few men, right?"
General Akura laughed. "Of course not, Captain. You are a funny person, eh? They are awaiting our orders at the battlefield. So let us discuss the strategy and bring this kingdom a sweet victory."
Soon as our meeting is done, we march to the battlefield where the soldiers are waiting. The uneasy feeling that I felt before starts to grow again, stronger. I see thousands of men are standing as far as my eyesight. They are standing frozen at their place. I can see them there, but I don't sense their presence at all. My suspicion is true. There's something wrong with those soldiers. I march myself to the front to see it clearly. Then I realize that they're using normal clothes, shirt, and pants, instead of armor. They also have their weapon unsheathed and don't line up based on their group.
But it isn't the worst yet. At first, I think my mind is playing a trick on my eyes because I see my friends - who were supposed to be dead weeks ago - are standing in front of me.
