"You know I can't move you right?" Taylor said sitting next to Alec. He nodded his head. "You want to try to stand?" He nodded his head again. He sat up using all of his strength. Using his hands he pushed himself up into a kneeling position. He fell forward onto his hands and collapsed on the floor. He grunted as loud as he could but it came out as a whisper. Taylor looked around but all she saw was the open door to her empty room. "You can um stay in my room tonight. I can sleep somewhere else. I would just have to drag you or you could crawl or something." She looked back to Alec he looked surprised but thankful. He nodded and tried to say thank you. It came out as a scratchy squeak. She grabbed his hand then started to drag him. He moved little by little. She finally got him into her bedroom and then helped him onto her bed. "I'll be right back." She left the room and walked to the kitchen. Liam was leaning over a crate looking for something to eat. "Hey Liam." She said her voice raspy and cracking. "You good?" He said turning around. His faced turned to shock as he saw her appearance. Her hair was messy, and she had a dark bruises on her neck. "What happened?!" He said looking concerned. "Brendon, Brendon happened." She said walking over to a crate and opening the lid. "Oh that explains it?" He said phrasing it as a question. "I'll tell you tomorrow. I have to shower." She grabbed a glass and filled it with cold water. Then she grabbed a bag and filled it with ice. She walked out leaving a confused Liam. She went to Alec's room to grab him a new shirt. Blood was all over the one he has on. She walked in and the scent of old books hit her straight away. She looked in his closet and found a white shirt and took it off the hanger. Looking around at all six shelves of books. Taylor left his room and made it back to her own. She walked in quietly, she could hear Alec snoring. She left the shirt on the desk chair and the glass of water on the desk. She grabbed a clean white shirt and a pair of jeans. Then snuck out quietly and walked across the hall to the bathroom. Liam was right, looking at herself she might have looked like a madman. She turned on the hot water and began to clean the blood off her face and neck. She knew she couldn't go back to her room so, she decided to go read in Alecs. She rapped her hair in a gray towel and got dressed. When she was in Alec's room she spun around looking at all of the books. Going to the first shelf she looked until she found a red book with a gold pentagram on the side of it. When she picked it up the pentagram shimmered with the light. She sat down at the desk and opened the old weathered book. All there was were different symbols and random jotted down notes. Looking at the notes she gathered they were in english but very rushed looking. She spent all night reading through the notes and symbols until she fell asleep at the desk. "Good morning songbird." Said Alecs hoarse voice. Taylor jolted up from sleep. "Hey Alec." She said in a groggy voice stifling a yawn. He had wet hair and was wearing the shirt Taylor brought him. "So I see you did some reading." He said gesturing to the still open book with his head. "Yeah, I couldn't really understand anything though." She said pushing herself out of the chair and stretching. "Thank you." He said scratching the back of his head. "No problem. How's your nose?" She looked up at his nose it was off to the side a tiny bit. "Uh I think it's broken." He frowned and then grabbed the book off the desk. He chuckled then put it back on the shelf. "What's so funny? "She said looking at the other shelves lining the walls. "Nothing that was just one of the first book I ever got." He said walking over to the door. "Let's go get something to eat." He opened the door and waited for her to walk out then shut it. They both walked into the kitchen to find Brendon and Danielle talking. "Hey you guys!" Taylor said faking a smile and happy tone. She was suspicious of one and hated the other. Brendon and Danielle stop talking and watch the two come sit down with them. "How's your nose Alec?" Danielle asked, concerned. "'It's fine." Alec said waving it of. "Brendon broke his nose." Taylor said glaring at Brendon. She expected his to look apologetic, something that showed he was sorry. But he had a small smile on his face. "I do hold up a good fight. I'm not the one to back down on a fight." He said with a laugh. Danielle looked at Brendon, but he didn't see her. "You almost killed me." Taylor hissed. Danielle looked to Alec who looked just as concerned as she did. Taylor was balling her fist under the table and was turning red with rage. "I already told you. You can't die. So how did you two sleep?" He asked, normally. Alec knew Taylor was going to do something, so he placed his hand on her thigh. The touch sent electricity running through her. Her heart started drumming twice as fast, the feathers on her wings ruffled anxiously. Taylor looked at Alec, he nodded calmly and smiled. Brendon and Danielle didn't see what just happened between Taylor and Alec. Alecs hand stayed on her thigh and she didn't make a move to knock it away. "So how did you two sleep?" Brendon asked again in an annoyed tone. "I slept good." He said smiling and glancing at Taylor. "I did too." She got up to go get some food. She walked over to the crates and found a box of pancake mix. "Who wants pancakes?" She said turning around and smiling. "I do!" Danielle and Alec shouted in unison. "Sure." Brendon said less enthusiastic. Walking to the fridge Taylor grabbed the milk and eggs. Walking over to a cupboard she opened it and found a measuring cup and put it on the counter. "Who wants to help me?" She stood on her tippy toes reaching for a large bowl just out of her reach. She sighed as Alec came up behind her and got it down with ease. "I will songbird." He whispered. "I want pancakes!" Liam shouted from the where he leaned in the door frame. He was watching Alec and Taylor. Taylor read the directions on the box and mixed all the ingredients in the bowl. She turned on the stove and started cooking the batter. "Who's first?" She said turning around with a finished pancake on a plate. "Me!" Liam and Danielle screamed. They both ran over to Taylor. She got there first and just grabbed the pancake off the plate and ran away from Liam. "Hey!" Liam yelled chasing after her. Taylor continued making pancakes while they ran around the kitchen. "Next." Taylor held out another pancake. This time Liam won but, he grabbed the plate too. She made four more pancakes with the rest of the batter. Brendon and Alec both took one. Taylor took one and sat down to eat with Alec and Brendon. The day was "normal". There was no death threats and they all enjoyed themselves. But something lingers behind Danielle. A shadow of what she was going to have to do at night. Something she couldn't ignore. Through the whole day that is what clouded her mind. As the hours passed she became more anxious. She had to leave at midnight, in a hour. They were all in the bar converting in normal conversation. Danielle kept on glancing at the clock over the bar. As she retreated from looking she caught eye contact with Taylor. Who was across from the table leaning into Alec. She quickly looked away and looked to Brendon who was to her right.
She looked at the clock again and it said 11:30. She needed to go. "I'm gonna go to bed guys." Danielle said while getting out of her stool. "I can walk you." Liam and Brendon said at the same time getting out of their seats. Brendon head snap to Liam and glared, but Liam gaze was on Danielle. "No it's fine I can walk by myself." She said glancing at the clock. 11:31. "I'll see you in the morning." She said before spinning around heading towards the door. Taylor watched her as she became un-visible from where she sitting. "I'm gonna go to the bathroom." She lied while getting up, out of Alec's grip. "Be right back." She said walking away. She looked back at the table to see all the boys talking. Not paying attention to her. She slip out of the room, hearing someone walk through the wall. She quickly look seeing light grey wing disappear in an instance. She new it was Danielle. She counted to ten before walking herself. When her vision focused she could see Danielle outside walking away. She sprinted to the door swinging it open, seeing Danielle disappear behind a corner. She sprinted over to there and started to follow. She kept enough distance from her and Danielle. She couldn't afford her getting caught. They came to a forest and Danielle had no hesitations to walk in. Danielle weaved through trees and bushes knowing exactly where she was going. Taylor stood at the line of the forest. What had she got herself into? She step forward, continuing to follow.
