Chapter 49

"Lucifer!" A voice called from somewhere. A women started pushing her way through the crowd of demons. The women was small with gray hair, she leaned on a tall staff. When she got into the circle no one made a move to get rid of her. "Hello Iris." The Devil or Lucifer said to the women. Taylor studied the face of the old women realizing who it was. Dallon jumped up and answered first. "Ma'am it's you!" Dallon said happily. "Yes Dallon, call me Iris now please." Iris smiled at Dallon but turned back to Lucifer. "Now why would you torment such innocent youth Lucifer?" Iris was acting like the Devil's mother which confused everyone who could understand what's going on. "Come sister we can take their power and return to Hell!" He held a hand to Iris. Iris stared at the hand with a flat look. Everyone stared in confusion. She reached up her frail hand and placed it in her brother's. In her other hand was a dagger that shined against the sun. It was sleek and small. Iris took the small blade and impaled Lucifer in his lower back in one quick motion. The huge monster collapsed to the ground. Lucifer was in shock as so everyone else except Iris. He should have seen this coming but he didn't. He brought his hand to his chest and shakily looked up at Iris. "Goodbye Iris, rule well." Lucifer hissed right before his turned into dust. This dust wasn't like the others it began to swirl into the air as a dark black color with hints of red. As it swirled in the air it split equally into two groups. It went straight to Brendon and Danielle. They both inhaled it and heat began to melt off them. Taylor looked to Brendon and saw his brown eyes turn as red as the Devil himself. Liam was still cradling Danielle when all of a sudden an ear piercing scream ripped through the air from Danielle. Liam was shot backwards into the demons surrounding them. Danielle jumped up quickly red mist was curling around her body. Her eyes were a deep blood red and so was the mist. "Everyone get down now!" Brendon screamed while getting down. Everyone did except for Lilly. She couldn't move as she was in shock. The mist shot away from Danielle in every direction. It hit Lilly square in the chest she was turned to dust in an instant. All of the demons that surrounded them turned to dust as well. No emotion could be seen in Danielle's eyes just bloodlust. Brendon knew what she could do. Brendon had experienced this power before and knew how to control it, but he couldn't just transfer the knowledge to her. Also the fact that her insanity was gone and topped on this could make a person go mad. Half of the demon army was gone in the matter of minutes. "Brendon! How do we get her back?" Liam demanded more than asked. "We have to calm her down but we can't get close enough to do anything!" Brendon shot back. Liam was up in an instant bolting towards Danielle. The mist was gathering around her again. Liam knew what was going to happen. He quickly hit the ground and the mist shot right over his head. As it passed he quickly got up and continued to run towards her. "Danielle!" He screamed towards the rampaging girl. She turned mist gathering around her. Liam didn't get down he trusted her. He came closer until he was about five feet away. "Danny please!" The moon shone brightly on the scene. Liam ran full speed towards her. He crushed his lips against hers. Electricity ran through both of them. The mist disappeared and the only thing left was them. They both melted into the kiss. Danielle pulled away confused on what was happening. "L-liam." Is all she could say. "Yes it's me." He smiled and chuckled. What was strange was her eyes didn't change back to their color, but he chose not to react on it at this moment. She looked around and saw the scene before her. Brendon and Taylor looked at her but Danielle's attention were on the other people who were with them looked at her with terrified looks. She couldn't remember much. She remembered everything up till the Devil left her room. "Don't look at them." Liam said smiling. "Look at me." When Danielle turned back to Liam he pecked her lips. "Liam what did I do." She demanded focusing on him. "Iris, I mean the old lady killed the Devil and then you sorta went on a killing spree." He scratched the back of neck. "How many people did I kill." Danielle said her body shaking. "Well you killed half of the Devil's army and Lilly." He said turning back to the group of people staring at them. "W-whose Lilly." She had tears welling up in her eyes. "It was one of the people Brendon recruited to help us fight." Liam said still staring at the group. "Fight?" She asked stepping in front of Liam. "We'll explain everything later. Come on." He started to walk to the rest of the group with Danielle trailing behind.
