Delilah's P.O.V..
Thursday. One of the only days Dan was off and he didn't have to go work at Hot Topic. Also one of the only days that I didn't have to sit on a pile of $50 shirts and do my homework after school, while emo music played in the background. As you can tell, I've matured very much since the last you saw me. I'm nine and half now and life sucks! My teacher, Mrs. Cherry, doesn't like me very much. The only reason I get good scores is because I'm incredibly smart. Charming? Not really. At least in her eyes I'm not.
Unlike Dan, Phil did not have the day off. He worked at Starbucks and boy was it terrible. Everyone was always snotty and very picky about their order. Like, I'll have a caramel macchiato with soy milk and make sure it doesn't have whipped cream! Is that even a thing?! I don't know anything about that stuff, but he seems to like his job.
The door to my parents room swung open, Dan had emerged from his hideout and decided to join me in watching a movie. " Watcha watching Lilah?" He grinned, ruffling my hair.
I giggled and reached for a handful of popcorn. I love watching movies with him on Thursday nights. " It's a horror movie about a creepy guy, pretty standard. Although I don't remember the name of the movie..." I replied.
He plopped down onto the couch, his fringe bouncing up as he positioned himself. For the next hour and a half, we curled up together and watched the rest of the movie. As I was about to fall asleep, Phil crept into the house and kissed me goodnight. He and Dan headed back into their room, saying goodnight. As the door creaked shut, I closed my eyes and drifted off into a deep sleep. By deep sleep I mean closing my eyes for five seconds because of a loud sound I heard. I got up and opened the door to our apartment and peered out. And saw something interesting.
New.
Neighbors.
