Delilah's P.O.V.
" Why didn't you-Knock, knock!!!
We weren't expecting any visitors. At least I didn't think so. " Dan did you invite anyone over?" Phil asked, shifting his position. " Like I said, I barely have any friends so I don't feel the need to invite them over." He replied, sighing.
" I was just looking for a yes or no answer but okay."
" I'll get it since no one is willing."I said frustratedly.
I got up, almost tripping on Dan's leg, and opened the door. " Dimples?"
" Delilah?"
" Is this Dakota?"
" Everyone calm down! Come on in Dakota and bring your... family." I said, this was getting really awkward and cringy. They stepped inside, both eyeing my parents. Please like us, please like us. " Hello I'm Dan, Delilah's dad." He grinned shaking their hands. " Oh what a pleasure to met you!" His mom said happily. His dad smiled and shook his hand too. They glanced over at Phil. " Oh and this must be your older brother!"
Dan pursed his lips together, he seemed really tense. " Uh actually, umm- umm this is also... My dad." I said quietly.
Dakota's parents looked very uncertain now, trying to act normal in this kind of situation. " Oh! Oh... So you're? Okay." His dad stuttered, avoiding eye contact. My parents looked very uncomfortable now. What was so wrong with being gay?
" Well! You guys can talk while dimples- I mean Dakota and I can talk in my room." I grinned. I grabbed his hand and pulled him along towards my room. " They're in love." His mum giggled as we headed into my room.
I collapsed onto my bed, a happy giggling mess. " Why are you so happy?" He laughed. God I was in love with his dimples! Shut up Delilah, you just barely met him and you're only nine! Maybe he does like me, and I'll get to know him now that we're living nextdoor. " Delilah?" He whispered, his face now inches away from mine.
Was I blushing? How long had I been absent? " Sorry sorry dimples. I'm just really happy I get to live nextdoor to you." I giggled nervously.
" Okay, you sure there's nothing wrong?" He asked, his soft grey eyes staring at my brown ones.
" Uh yeah... Just a little worried that your parents won't like mine..." I muttered, turning my head away from his gaze.
" Delilah, even though I barely know you, I'm sure my parents with like yours. They're just a like surprised by the whole... gay thing okay?" He grinned, moving my face back to face his. What was going on? " Uh, we should probably go back with them." I stuttered nervously, feeling my cheeks heat up. We got up and headed back into the living room, everyone was laughing and talking happily. " I see you guys like each other." Dakota smiled. " Your parents are so funny and nice, you guys should stay for dinner." Phil offered.
" That sounds lovely!" His mom replied. I looked over at Dakota, his grey eyes gleaming with happiness.
I think I have a crush on Dakota Grace. I think I had a crush on dimples.
