Dakota's P.O.V.

My arms wrapped around Delilah's delicate frame, I never wanted to let go. " I thought I wasn't going to see you ever again!" I cried joyously.
She smiled, resting her chin on my shoulder. " Everything is okay dimples."
Her breaths were small and warm, each one crawling down my back.
Her parents joined in the hug, even Dan didn't mind hugging me.
Everyone pulled away, my hands still clutching onto to her shoulders tightly. " How did you manage to get the police?" I asked.
" Once I was in my room, I knew what was going to happen. I called the police beforehand and just as they were about leave, along with our belongings and me, the cops arrived. I'm the greatest aren't I?" She grinned.
I could feel my dimples deepening.
" Sure you are... Thank you Delilah, for saving us."
I hugged her again, this time more passionately. As I pulled away I could see the bitter expressions on my parents faces. I bit my bottom lip.
" How could you...."
" Son I'm sorry, we just couldn't tell you. We- " I don't want to hear it, how could you ever do a thing like this!!! You put my friend and her family in danger, and you put me in danger!!" I exclaimed, irritated by their constant excuses. The anger inside me could never compare to the sorrow that was building up inside. I had trusted them.
That was a mistake. The police escorted them away and I looked over at Delilah. Was this truly the last time I would ever see her?
" So I guess this is.... goodbye." She said sadly.
" Yeah."
I felt her hands intertwine with mine, they were smooth and warm.
" I won't ever forget you, and don't ever forget me. We can keep in contact okay dimples?" She smiled.
I smiled back.
" This is goodbye Delilah Howell. Until we meet again." I said, hoping that she wouldn't see the tears rolling down my cheeks.
We hugged one more time. Then she did something that surprised me. A kiss on the cheek. I was blushing like mad. " Goodbye dimples."
I waved goodbye to Delilah and her parents as I left their house. Even if all these terrible events happened, one thing was for sure.
I loved Delilah Howell, and this wouldn't be the last time I saw her.
