Aglaia twitched around on a foreign bed of moss as moonlight rest itself on her aching scales. It felt as if her body hadn't moved for days, her sensitive muscles were stiff and still, yearning for something to do. The young dragoness cracked her heavy eyes open and observed her surroundings. The purple pools of her eyes uncaringly scanned over the floral plants and focased themselves on a beautiful silvery purple dragon that perched herself above her own body, Gecko was sleeping nearby. Aglaia couldn't help but to realize how simular they looked, their scales, their cold body, and even their eyes. She even seemed to get along with Silver, who had a thick layer of cobwebs stuck on the back of his wide furry head and his arms around her elegant neck.
The mysterious woman seemed to notice the slight fluttering of the frail dragonet's eyelids and her eyes met her daughter's. She offered her child a small small and they left the past unsaid. "I know you must have a lot of questions, but I'll only answer one today. There's too much to cover, so let's start with your eyes," she told her daughter. Aglaia wanted to protest but decided against it, if she didn't want to talk about everything right now she didn't have to.
"Nobody knows if this explanation is the truth or not but it's the only explanation I have for now. We have plenty of time so I'll cover everything I remember. Once there was a godess named Agliaa, she had the deepest purple eyes anyone ever seen. She had tears that could heal the harshest of wounds, the most horrific infections, even the internal problems like infertality or gut rot. Agliaa was like a deity to the Nightwing's, despite her pure silver scales, so she was able to have multiple clutches of eggs. Soon, rumors spread that she had killed what was the Nightwing queen back then to take her authority, wich had worked if that was true. The Nightwings had agreed to kill her but her former mate, Nightshimmer, had heard of their plans and warned her. She had tried to solve the upbringing peacfully, but she got beheaded. Nightshimmer had 'read their minds' and knowing it was too late, he had taken every single egg and dragonet they had and flew away. A few dragonets were tragically left behind...... and nothing is known about the whereabouts of Nightshimmer or most of dragonets he took. That is why purple is considered the color of healing.
Aglaia had listened carefully as her mother ran her talon over the smoothened, now hardened half of her face as she rambled about the history of Agliaa. Are they related? Their names are suspiciously simular, Aglaia and Agliaa. "Do you want me to tell you about all the other dragons that supposedly have simular powers?" Moonshine asked, getting a small nod in return. There's nothing better to do so why not? There's definately no harm in it, it'd be a nice thing to tell the grandbabies.
"Snow was an Icewing that brought in the cursed icy blue eyes. So, she had a mate, but he didn't respect or love her in any way. He'd often fight and breath his deadly frost at her. After a long while of dealing with their abusive relationship she thought up a plan. Snow left late at night and visited an animus, her mother. After asking what she should do her mother had figured out a way to free her that wouldn't get her caught in the act. She had used an old spell and cursed her daughter's tears. In one of their fights, Snow had cried on her abusive mate while protecting her eggs he had threatened to crush. Her tears had caused her former mate to die a slow, agonizing death. The news spread like a wildfire and they called for Agliaa to heal him, only to learn she was dead. Snow ran away with the few eggs she had, after a while Icewings found out about her tears. She died from an infection to the heart but I have no idea what happened to the eggs.... that's why Icewings are said to often idolize anyone with icy blue eyes."
"I can only remember one more tales, its about Serpent. She was a dragon of war and bloodshed, always leaving a long trail of blood wherever she went. Her eyes were a deep red color that paralyzed her enemies right in their places. When a single tear landed on even the tip of a single scale it would evaporate and cave in, eating through whatever it touched as it went by. The only thing that could counteract the burning tears of the nightmarish dragoness were healing tears. They balence eachother out, but one simple mishap could cause an inbalence. She was soonly slayed by one of Agliaa's children in rage of Serpent killing one of her brothers. After that there were no other known cases of red eyes, nobody even knows if she had children or any relatives that shared her eyes."
Aglaia couldn't help but to let her mind wonder to one of her old adoptive siblings, Diamond. She had red eyes but nothing bad happened that involved her, was there. Before she knew it, she was being lulled to sleep by her mother's faint humming of an unfamiliar but slightly upbeat tune. Despite her unused muscles screaming to run and fly about Aglaia allowed herself to drift off under her mother's protective gaze. Her ears drooped as Moonshine's talons gently strummed between her heavily scorched horns, gently placing riled up scales back into their places as she fell back into a deep sleep. Aglaia felt safe under her mom's protection, but something in her gut told her something bad was going to happen, and it was going to happen soon.
