Aurelia had left so abruptly that she doubted Credence even had a chance to comprehend it. She had lost track of time, and upon realising that she was already late, she had near jumped out the window. Of course, she had completely forgotten that it was raining and that the house was far too slippery to climb down.

Still, she somehow managed to get to the ground without breaking anything. She did feel a significant amount of bruises appearing on her pale skin though. Credence was staring out the window, looking almost upset that Aurelia had left so suddenly.

"Don't worry, Credence. I'll be back another time." Aurelia called up to him, hoping it might relax the sorrowful look stuck on his face. It didn't, but he nodded to show his understanding.

Rain fell in crazy chaotic drops, the gusting wind carrying them in wild vortices one moment and in diagonal sheets the next. It ran down her face as a thin layer, not as cold as it was the first time but without the warmth of summer showers. Aurelia reached her hands over her head, trying to protect her saturated form as she sprinted through the abandoned streets. Small pellets of water littered her hands as the remainder of the drops quenched the scattered puddles decorating the asphalt.

The Woolworth's building came into view, and the few people exiting disappeared before they reached the rain. Apparation. She supposed that the streets were so empty that it didn't matter, well, not enough for her to tell the president of MACUSA about it. Around the corner she finally spotted the bright light of Gargiulo's restaurant. Glancing around, Aurelia slinked under cover and discreetly waved her wand behind her back. In an instant she felt her skin, hair and clothes dry. Though she knew a few stray drops would fall on her the rest of the way to the restaurant, at least she wasn't drenched.

In the distance she could already see Eartha waiting by the door, biting her lip anxiously and scanning the few people that walked passed for any sign of her. The blonde witch felt a spark of guilt jolt through her system but this only made her run faster toward her.

As soon as the Auror spotted the Aurelia her tense expression melted into a smile. In the dark of night Eartha's eyes seemed to brighten from their usual shade, the lights scattered about the street reflecting off of them like stars. "About time you got here." She laughed light-heartedly. "I thought you'd changed your mind."

"About free food? Never." Aurelia replied with a grin, lungs burning at how desperately she tried to hide how puffed she was.

Eartha gave an amused chuckle, crossing her arms over her chest. "Who said anything about it being free?"

"You did when you invited me." The blue eyed witch could barely contain her laughter. She was obviously kidding. She would never let her pay, but still it was always funny to see their reactions.

"Ah, that I did." Eartha ran her hands over her skirt, straightening out any wrinkles that had appeared while she waited.

Aurelia was stuck on how beautiful the woman was until she remembered that she hadn't changed into anything suitable. Hesitantly, she glanced down. Plain black shirt that did nothing for her figure and baggy trousers. Compared to Eartha she looked like a trash bag. In fact, she was about ready to throw herself into the garbage.
