"Credence!" Aurelia cried but he had already disappeared in a whirl of black and grey. She fell to the ground, dominated by a profound sadness, fatigue engraved on her face. "Where is he taking him?!"

"I'm not sure..." Newt replied, head low and deep in thought. "It didn't look like he was going unwillingly."

Aurelia didn't know whether to be confused as to why he had betrayed them, or if she should have expected it from such an easily influenced boy. Either way she felt a familiar sorrow hit her, and anger that Newt had let Credence out of his sight.

In the midst of these contrasting emotions Aurelia felt her spine snap and change angles, then she fell to her hands and knees. Her fingernails dug into the asphalt below, they elongated then sharpened. Before long the girl that had once stood in the middle of the street was replaced with a snowy white dog. It's blue eyes flicked to Newt before doubling back.

By the time she reached the Goldstein apartment Newt was already there. This came as no surprise, she had been gone for nearly two hours.

Her hair was a mess of matted curls and her dress looked as if it had been thrown on without much care for how it looked, only that she had to cover her body with something. What made this so obvious was the tag sticking out near her collarbones - she had put it on backwards.

Usually, she had a charm on her clothes that helped them morph in and out of her animagus so that she wasn't left stark naked when transforming back... This time, however, it looked like she'd forgotten through lack of care and just tossed a new dress on when the other was left behind.

Newt decided not to mention how rushed she looked and instead held out a small piece of paper. Aurelia grasped the sharp edge and brought it closer, eyes more focused on those few words than they had ever been.

"We found it in the kitchen." Newt said quietly. "I didn't write it."

"Sure does look like your handwriting." Aurelia mumbled, unconvinced.

"It's not, Elia." Queenie's voice carried from the living room, and within seconds, she was standing next to Newt. "He can't lie to me, honey. You know that."

It was one of those rare moments where Queenie's tone had a seriousness to it, likely because she could hear all the awful things Aurelia was thinking. Elia sighed, attempting to rid herself of all frustration toward Newt, which while Credence was gone, proved extremely difficult.

"Who could have written it then?" She sighed.

"Likely whoever had the most to gain." Newt moved back into the house, quickly followed by the two blonde's.
