The rest of the day went quickly as I just followed Roxy around for the rest of the day. I tried my hardest to concentrate and follow her actions but it was kind of hard when my mind was somewhere else. That somewhere else being the rude boy I ran into during lunch.

I don’t know why I can’t stop thinking about it but the way he spoke to me was sick and I kind of just want to punch him. No boy has the right to call a girl a bitch and yank her arm back. I wanted to ask Roxy what his name was because his name badge was blocked and I didn’t pay any attention to it, but I decided against it. I don’t want to seem nosy on my first day.

I’m probably just going to try and avoid him at all costs. Not that I’m scared of him or anything, I just don’t have any intentions to become friends with someone so rude. So there’s no point of speaking to him.

I pull my sun glasses over my head to rest in my hair as I step into my apartment building. The cold air conditioning whips around my body as I walk towards the elevators.

“Harmony!” My name was called echoing through the building. I turn around to find a happy Hamish standing by himself with a clipboard in his hand.

“Hey Hamish.” I smile walking away from the elevators towards him.

“How was your first day?” He smiles placing the clipboard down on the reception desk.

“It was pretty good. I have a really nice manager and most people in the building seem nice.” I emphasize the most.

“Most?” He asks raising his eyebrow.

“Yeah. I ran into a pretty rude boy.” I sigh.

“Well that sucks, does he work with you?” He asks, interrogating me about my first day. I don’t really feel like talking about the rude boy I met, I’m sort of trying to just block it out and forget about him.

“No he doesn’t gladly, but he works on my floor.” I smile.

“I haven’t even asked, where do you work?”

“Myer, the one on burke street.” I proudly smile. I’m pretty happy with my job at Myer.

“That’s a good place to work. I better go, I don’t want to keep you waiting.” He smiles picking up his clipboard again.

“That’s alright, I enjoy talking to you. Bye Hamish.” I beam as I turn around.

“Oh and Harmony?” Hamish says making me turn back around.

“Yeah?”

“If that guy annoys you anymore, you know where I am okay?” He says strongly and it makes me smile. He’s pretty buff and looks pretty strong, but the boy I met today is much taller than him and looks stronger.

“Thanks Hamish.” I smile turning around to walk towards the elevator. I have only known Hamish for a bit over a month and he is already so nice to me.

I jump into the elevator and click the number 1 button to take me to my floor. Hamish’s offer was very sweet and I feel like I could go to him for anything. He seems like a really nice and trust worthy guy. At least I feel like I have someone around here.

The elevator dings and the big metal doors open letting me onto my floor.  I walk down to the end of the corridor where my apartment is. There’s only 4 apartments on this level, mainly because they all are like mine and have another room added on top of their lounge room.

I unlock the big brown door which leads into my apartment and chuck my shoes on the shoe rack. I walk through my apartment till I come to my dining table where I throw my bag on top of. I pull my sun glasses out of my hair and throw them in my handbag ready for tomorrow. I’m pretty exhausted from my first day at work I don’t know how I’m going to last the next 4 days. At least I don’t have to work on weekends.
