I almost screamed out in victory, until Liam shot me in the face."What the hell?" I yelled at him.
He laughed and held up his hands in surrender, like I was actually holding a gun to him. But, in reality, it was just my intense glare that made him cower back slightly. I knew I was over reacting slightly, but he was the one who wanted me to play, and he was the one that got me completely addicted.
"Hey! Don't hate the player." He said back.
"I was just about to win!" I all but shouted at him.
He grinned and elbowed my arm slightly. "We're on different teams, if you were about to win, why was I able to shoot you in the face?" He asked.
"Because you're stupid." I mumbled.
When I re-spawned, I was at the last check point, a place that took me twenty minutes to get to. I glared at him out of the corner of my eye as I started to make my way back to where I was suppose to be. He had done that once already, but I didn't freak out the way I had done before.
"Are you having fun?" He almost giggled.
"Shut up." I whispered, though I wasn't actually upset.
He nudged me again and I felt like smacking him upside the head. He got really intense about this game, and now I knew why. It was one of the most fun, interesting things that I have done in my entire life. There was something in my mind saying that all the war stuff was bad, but there was almost something that made me smile as I got further and further in the game.
"I knew you would love this game." He laughed.
I turned to him. "I hate you."
"You're really competitive." He smiled.
I laughed and nudged him back. "You should have known after we played that game with the rest of the guys. I have to win and if I don't, it gets bad."
He paused the game and turned to me. "How about you eat something." He suggested. "I know you haven't properly eaten anything an in a while, and you're due in three weeks. We need to make sure the baby's healthy."
"The baby will be healthy." I whispered. "You've been making me eat a ton of different foods, and I'm probably too healthy for my own good." I said, keeping me eyes off him, as I knew that if I looked at him while having a conversation like this, I would probably tell him the secret, and I knew it would shatter his world.
So, I kept my head towards the game and pushed the thought out of my head.
He gave me a scrutinizing look and held a plate in front of my face. "There is no such thing as being too healthy. Now, you can eat this, or I can get something I know you hate, and I'll force you to eat that."
I shot him a glare. "You wouldn't" I knew exactly what he was talking about.
"I saw they had a candy trolly in the lobby." He said. "It would take me five minutes to go downstairs and buy black candy lace."
"What haven't we tried yet?" I asked looking at the pile of food slowly being eaten.
He looked around for a few seconds, seeing what we had already eaten. "I think the hash brown bacon and honey mustard thing is the only thing that's left." He held it in front of my face, like I couldn't do it myself. "Come on, it's the best thing in the entire world."
"That's what you said about the deep fried pickles." I said. "Those tasted completely disgusting."
He smiled. "Then we wont get anymore of those."
"We're not going to get any more of anything." I tried to convince him. "We've eaten so much of everything."
Liam rolled his eyes and shoved the food in my mouth. I almost moaned at the taste. Even if it wasn't warm, I knew it was one of the best things I've ever tasted. Liam wasn't over exaggerating at all, this was going to be my new favourite food. I was never going to have anything that tasted better than this.
