Liam's POV
I couldn't move.
I couldn't think.
I couldn't cry.
I couldn't even breath.
Belle, she was gone.
Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong and I wasn't comforting her at all. I just stood there like a complete idiot and let her freak out. The only thing I had to do was keep her calm and I couldn't even do that.
She was probably so scared, so completely and utterly terrified. I knew how worried she was of anything going wrong and now it had. Without even a few minutes passing, almost my entire world had shattered.
She and the baby were my whole world.
It wasn't even five minutes ago that she was smiling and laughing. But, everything changed so quickly and so terribly that I couldn't do anything but just watch as she passed out. And then it was a few seconds and she was completely gone out of the room.
And all I was doing was standing there.
"Liam." Louis whispered, coming up behind me.
I was still completely frozen, standing there looking at the blood cover bed. No matter what anyone said or did, I don't think I was able to breath properly until they were both alright. My heart wouldn't be alright until both of them were safe and living well.
"Liam." He said again.
I closed my eyes. "What?"
"It's going to be okay." He tried to assure me.
Before I could control myself, I whirled around on him. His eyes widened when I set my sites on him, shoving him to the ground quickly. "How is any of this ever going to be okay?"
Harry was quick to stand between us. "Mate, calm down."
"No Harry!" I shouted. "Why the hell would I calm down right now?"
"You're hurting the people around you!" He yelled back at me.
I took in a deep breath of air, even if my chest was still heavy. "I have a right to not be calm right now!"
"No! You have a right to be with Belle!"
I whirled back on Zayn who backed up almost instantly. "I can't be with Belle right now! She told me I had to wait here, so I can't be with her right now, even if I wanted to be!"
"What would she want right now?" Zayn asked, moving towards me cautiously.
Thinking back to the last thing she said, I sobered up slightly. "She wants the baby to be okay."
"Go talk to a doctor. Tell them that." He said.
I took a deep breath and ran out the door. There was a different nurse at the desk, so I ran up to him, panting. "My girlfriend just went into surgery. I need to talk to someone who can help me."
"What do you need?"
Just thinking about what I was about to say made my heart drop down to my feet. "If anything bad happens, she wants the baby to be saved first."
The male nurse gave me a sad look and walked through a door behind the desk. I leaned my back against the corner of the desk and looked up at the ceiling. I loved her so much, but I knew what she wanted. She and I had talked about it and if anything bad happened, the baby had to come first.
But, I didn't want to lose her either. Even if it was the thing she wanted, I didn't want Belle to die, or the baby. It was the one thing that would completely ruin my life, the only thing that could. She was the only one who could keep me grounded in any way.
