I was sitting at home by myself in an oversized shirt and a pair of old shorts. Liam had gone out to get a baby carrier, which we should have gotten earlier, but we hadn't. He wouldn't be home for at least another fifteen minutes and I was starting to get worried.

When I woke up, there was a note telling me he was gone, but then I felt movement in my stomach. It wasn't the normal kicking either, it was like a sinking feeling multiplied by twenty, making me completely stop what I was doing and hold the big bump on my stomach.

Liam was suppose to be home in a little while, so I didn't want to call him and keep him from getting the carrier. So, I grabbed the overnight bag and set it next to the door, going back to the couch and sitting down. I would just sit down and relax until Liam got home.

When he did get home, I would tell Liam that I had gone into labor and he would be calm. All I wanted was for Liam was to be completely calm about the whole thing, but the wasn't his style. He wasn't someone who liked to calm down in situations like this. He would freak out as soon as I told him.

I had been trying to ease him into the whole thing, but with the prospect of whether or not both the baby and I would make it weighing on his mind, it was worse. He was such a little worry wart and it was starting to rub off on me as well.

But when I thought about my problems, a thought came to mind. Maybe I shouldn't be leaving things to chance. Maybe I should go to the hospital as soon as possible and try not to get worse than everything was. It would be so much easier on me if I got their earlier.

I quickly grabbed my phone from the place on the couch next to me and dialled Liam's number.

"Hey." He said.

I tried to keep my voice stable. "Hi."

"What's wrong?" He asked.

My voice stuttered slightly when I answered. "Try and get home as fast as you can."

"Why?"

"I've gone into labour." He started to talk really fast and I couldn't understand a word he was saying. "Slow down." I told him.

He took a deep breath through the phone. "Where are you?" He asked.

"I haven't left yet." I told him.

He sighed. "Okay, I can be home in a few minutes if you're all ready."

"I'm all ready." I said, nodding and becoming more and more determined by the second. "Be careful. I don't want you to get hurt on your way here."

I could hear heavy breathing through the phone and it was all I could do not to tell him to calm down. He would get really anxious if I told him to calm down, like he always did. But, I didn't want him to freak out and then get into an accident on the way home. Everything would be okay if the both of us stayed calm.

"Stay on the phone with me." I whispered.

He laughed but it was completely full of jitters, giving me absolutely no confidence at all. "I got the carrier, so we can take the baby home quickly."

"The bag is packed and at the front door." I told him.

"Are you feeling weird?" He asked.

My voice was shaky when I spoke next. "I've only had on contraction, so I think we'll be okay if we just get to the hospital quickly."

"I'm almost there baby."

I nodded. "I'll be ready."

"Okay, if you you want to start making your way downstairs, we can get there as soon as possible." He said. "I'm just turing onto our street now."

It only took a few minutes for me to get down to the ground floor. Through the glass doors, I could see the black car waiting for me. He ran right into the building and took the bag from me right away. It only took a few seconds for Liam to wrap his arms around me.

"You're going to be okay." He said.

I nodded. "Let's go."

He helped me into the car, being extremely careful of my stomach. He then put the carry bag in the back and then hoped in the front seat. There weren't any fans in the front because people still thought we were in London, so we were just right in and out of the front.

"I'm scared." I whispered.

He gave me a smile. "You're going to do great."

"What if something goes wrong?"

I could tell he was worried too, but I was glad he was pushing it back to save my feelings. "I can't tell you that everything's going to be fine. But, all I want you to remember is that I love you."

I looked into his eyes and rubbed a hand over my swelled stomach. "We can do this."
