"Mija! Did you find the keys?"

I CURRENTLY waited for my daughter to come outside. We were currently getting ready to visit my mother, Elizabeth. It's been such a long time since I seen her. I think the actual last time I saw her was when I graduated from high school. I was off to college from there.

"Momma! I found them!" My oldest daughter, Lailani, shouted from the front door of our house. I have three other kids. Two of them are girls and one's a boy. "C'mon hurry! I don't want to keep your grandma waiting!" I shouted back. Just then my husband, Christopher, came out carrying my youngest daughter, Estella.

"Are they ready?" I glanced over at him. In response, he nodded and smiled, planting a small kiss on my cheek. "Ew!" Estella exclaimed with a small giggle. I quickly kissed the top of her head and went inside the house to gather up the rest of kids.

"Kids! It's time to go!" I ran upstairs to find Lailani shoving a book in her backpack. "C'mon, baby, we're leaving." I told her before looking for the other two. Few moments later, I saw Anahí, my other daughter, and Matthew, my son, looking for things in their rooms. Sighing, I helped the two look for their stuff and luckily, they were easy to spot in mess they had held in their rooms.

With that, all the kids got out and ran into the car. I turned back to the house and made sure everything was secured. I suddenly took a deep breath as I walked towards the vehicle.

Today was going to be the day.

Once Chris had parked the car in my mom's driveway, the kids went rushing out, including Estella. I then caught a shirt glimpse of my mother walking down the stairs of her house. Lailani ran up to her, embracing her into a tight hug.

"You all came! Oh my!" I heard her fragile voice speak out happily. I couldn't help, but smile wide. I finally grabbed my purse and made my way out with Chris following me from behind. My mom spun around, facing the both of us. It's been so long.

"Mamá!" I screamed out and sprinted up to her. We both held each other, not bothering to let go. "I missed you so much!"
