Ok back to July/August time.
"Hey, you ok? Hello? Luke? Luka? HEY ASSHOLE!" Laine shouted.
"WHAT?!" I yelled back.
"He's here you moron hide!" I knew exactly what she meant. I fell out of my bed, grabbed a clean shirt, and threw the already made rope of bedsheets out of my window. Laine held onto it as I climbed down. She threw down my pack and I saluted her with my signature smirk.
"Good luck!" She called as I sprinted down the road, over the field gate, across the field and into the safety of the woods.
Of course I didn't stop running. The plan was get as far away as possible, I had find my iPhone set up, Lizzie had full access to my location. I couldn't risk giving it to the twins, Aunt Jane, my mom or Harry (her boyfriend) as my so called father would search everyone's phones.
I intended to keep running but I ran into someone and we both fell down. My pack fell off my shoulders as the two of us rolled down the hill and stopped just before the river banks. My pack didn't stop and rolled into the rapids.
"NO!" I shouted. The river was too deep and the rapids were too fast, I'd never get it and I'd never survive even if I did.
I heard a high pitch whistle. I turned to the person I knocked down.
"Lexi!" A blonde little cocker spaniel ran down the hill and started licking the young boys face. "Fetch!" He pointed to the pack in the river. The dog jumped in and started swimming for it. She returned within seconds, dragging the pack onto the river bank.
"Thanks girlie!" I leaned down and petted the dog and she wagged her curly tail. I picked up my pack and threw it over my shoulder.
"Thanks ki-" I turned around to see that the boy was Ozzie, one of Lizzie's little brothers and her favourite brother.
"Ozzie! Holy crap I'm so sorry!" I pulled him to his feet and dusted him off.
"Please don't tell your sister she'll kill me." I said hurriedly, checking him for injuries.
"I'm fine Luke." He giggled.
"You'd better be." I chuckled. "Sorry kid I'd walk you back but I can't ris- never mind. Point is I just gotta keep ru-"
"You're doing a runner again aren't you?" He smirked.
"What?! Ho-"
"OSCAR! OSCAR! LEXI! COME ON ITS TIME FOR DINNER!" We heard Lizzie shout.
"She tells me everything." He nodded in the direction of his sister's voice.
"You best be off. Tell her I hope she's alright. I gotta go kid, take care of yourself yeah? And kick ass at soccer for me!" I called as I ran along the river bank.
I stopped when I heard the sound of someone skidding down the hill. I turned to see Lizzie stumble as she regained her balance. "May the odds be ever in your favour." She held three fingers and whistled.
"Happy hunger games babe." I smirked as I turned and continued running.
I didn't stop till I reached the south side of the lake. I walked in and it of the trees until I got to the north side, more specifically, the rocks just beneath the tree house. I skidded to a stop when I realised someone was in the tree house, throwing things around. I hid behind the largest rock and listened carefully.
