Amy Glenn's POV
"Off for a week in Florida!" Brighton sighed, grabbing his beach towel, wrapping it around his swimming trunks, and walking out of the hotel room towards the beach. Looking up from French-braiding Adele's hair, I grinned at Meth, who had just stepped out of the bathroom.
"How long do you think it will take for him to realize he's still wearing Adele's princess tiara?" I asked my boyfriend, finishing the braid. She looked so cute in her little one piece bathing suit with a tutu and her swimmies on. Meth shrugged, smirking, picking up Adele and hoisting her over his shoulder. The door slammed back open, revealing a red in the face Brighton.
"Were you planning on telling me about this?" He fumed, waving the plastic object in the air. Meth and I snickered, and he came after me, tackling me onto the couch. "You're so mean to me! I thought we had something, Amy, but you are too cruel!" Brighton said dramatically, tickling me until I couldn't breathe.
"Brighton, let go of her," Brielle's calm voice instructed from the adjoining room. I gasped for air, struggling for oxygen as he released me. I glared at my British friend, who raised his hands in surrender.
"Are you coming, Brielle?" I asked, swinging myself up and searching for my flip flop which had been thrown onto the bed when Brighton tackled me.
"Yep, I have a picnic already made for us," Brielle responded, slipping sunglasses onto her face. "Brighton, you can carry the umbrella," she said, walking by him. He followed her subserviently out the door, grabbing the beach umbrella and her bag. Meth and I laughed at the pair while gathering our own stuff. "Come on, you two! Adele wants to get in the water, and it's about time for her to learn how to swim!"
Brighton Andrews' POV
After being on the beach for a few hours, Adele could finally swim without holding onto me. She was so proud, and she wanted to go show her mom. Looking up to where I'd left the two, I saw Meth putting sunscreen on Amy (in a fashion unacceptable for the baby's eyes, might I add) so, instead, we went over to Brielle who had packed lunch.
We walked past a bunch of girls who were watching Adele and I, so I flipped my still-dripping hair to the side, sparing them a glance. They all giggled cutely, and whispered back and forth. Smirking, I sat down with Brielle on the picnic blanket, pulling Adele into my lap. It took about fifteen minutes for Meth and Amy to join us, and by that time, Adele was already itching to get back into the water.
Meth took Adele out to the water, and Brielle went to dip her feet in, so Amy and I laid down under the umbrella. Amy ate some cheese doodles while I hummed 'So Many Times' quietly. "Hey, Brighton?" She said after a while.
"Yeah?" I asked, pushing myself up on my elbow to look at her.
"You are the closest thing to a brother that I've ever had. Thank you for not judging me when you first met me," she said gratefully, kissing my cheek platonically. I grinned.
"Don't go mushy on me now, Ames, I already have one princess on the bus," I joked, making her smile. "You're not too bad as a sister, either, by the way. And don't let everything with Allie get to you, there was nothing you could've done for her," I told her honestly. A tear slid down her cheek, and she wiped it away. When the others came back, we were laughing and playing catch with candy.
