Meth Drew's POV

Amy had no idea where I had been all day, and I wanted to keep it that way. Especially with the look of amazement on her face when I walked in. She was so excited about playing for AJ Tyler and Justin Brando's wedding that hearing about my day would bring her down.

Not that the outcome was bad. I spent the day with Ryan, Chad, and Clayton in a courtroom, signing papers that would keep Matt Evans away from my family for the rest of eternity. It certainly did not help his case that, minutes after the restraining order was put in place, he was found attempting to approach the tour bus. I had almost lost my composure; he had been so close to hurting everyone I loved. Thankfully, he was arrested and was immediately sentenced to jail. The testimony from our security team solidified all reports and he was convicted of stalking. He would not be out for several years and, when he was, the restraining order would remain in place.

My mind was all over the place as I walked over to orient my sleeping friend. I have no idea what he had been up to last night, but he was so out of it that he was asleep in a pile on the floor of the hallway, next to his bunk.

"Come on, man, let's get you into bed," I told him, helping him off the ground and up the ladder. He was deadweight, making it seem as if I was lifting a bag of flour and shoving it against the wall and up.

Eventually, I managed it and Amy came over to adjust his blankets. I settled myself onto the dark green couch and took the opportunity to watch my beautiful girlfriend take care of our best friend. She carried herself with an air of grace that I admired.

Those gorgeous blue eyes locked onto mine. We didn't need words, but I wanted to give them to her anyway. "You are absolutely amazing, you know that?" I asked her as she approached and sat down on my lap.

She traced my jaw with her index finger before leaning in for a kiss. "All I know is that you make me feel like I'm on top of the world," she whispered, her lips brushing against mine. At that moment, Adele and my mom came barreling out of the back bedroom and the little girl dove on top of us.

I faked pain to make her laugh, groaning and picking her up to throw her over my shoulder. She, Amy, Brighton, and my mom were my world. I felt so much pride and self-assurance in having protected them from a potential threat today.

I felt so good that I even agreed to take the little puff of a dog for a walk. Yeah, some people gave me funny looks, but I had one gorgeous girl on my arm and another (tinier) gorgeous girl walking beside me, holding the loop of the leash. Today had been a good day.
