Nadia's POV
I was walking down the beach to my lifeguard seat, I climbed up and sighed, the beach was full of families and I was stuck working, "Hey cutie! Why don't you take off that shirt!" A group of guys said making raise an eyebrow glancing in their direction before scoffing and looking back out to the sea, the worst thing about it was that the weather was scorching and I was dying for a swim, looks like my dying wish came true as they were yells from the sea, "Help!" A young boy yelled as he struggled to stay afloat, I jumped off the seat grabbing the lifeguard ring before running out to the water and swimming over to him, I put the ring around him "Ran! She's gone under!" He yelled, my eyes widened "Don't panic" I say before taking a deep breath and going under myself, luckily the water wasn't that deep so I was able to get the girl and swim back to the surface gasping for air, I grabbed the ring and swam back to shore, I laid the girl on to her back before starting CPR.

"Ren!" A panicked teenage boy yelled as he pushed through the crowd which was getting larger by the second, "Makoto!" The little boy yelled jumping into his arms, the girl coughed up water making me sigh in relief, "Are you okay?" I asked as I helped her sit up, she nodded, still gasping for air, I smiled and stood up and helped her to her feet along with steading her, "Ran!" The little boy yelled tackling his sister with a hug, almost knocking her over if it wasn't for me standing behind her, "Alright everyone, clear off!" I yelled, the crowd dispatched and I looked towards the teenage boy who had relief all over his face, "Thank you. I told them to stay with Rei and Nagisa while I went to-" I cut him off by holding up my hand up, "No worries. Siblings don't tend to listen to their older ones" I smiled and he gave a small smile back.

I crouched down to the kids, "Now listen up you two, I don't want to find out that you two went out into the sea unsupervised, it's dangerous" I say, they nodded "We won't! Thank you miss!" They yelled before tackling me with a hug, I stumbled backwards a little before giving them a pat on the back as they pulled away, I stood up and messed their hair up "Remember what I said" I say smiling at them, they nodded before running away to the blanket, I looked back towards their brother, who was smiling at me "Makoto, right?" I asked, he nodded "Makoto Tachibana, third year at Itawobi" he said sticking his hand out, "Nadia Holowinsky, I'm transferring to Itawobi after the break" I say shaking his hand.

"Really? Maybe you'd like to meet some of my friends" he said, I smiled "I will do later. I'm working until three" I say, he nodded "I'll keep an eye out for you" he said, I chuckled "I'll be the one at the advantage. See you later" I say going back over to my chair.

Makoto's POV
I arrived back at our spot and Rei, Nagisa, Ren and Ran were building a sandcastle, "Is Haru still in the water?" I asked as I sat down on the blanket, "Yeah" Rei answered to busy focusing on making the castle beautiful, "So what did the lifeguard lady talk to you about?" Ren asked, "Lifeguard lady? You mean Nadia?" I asked, he nodded "First name basis already Makoto, you move fast" Nagisa said, someone cleared their throat and Nadia stood there smiling, "Talking about me?" She asked, I felt heat rush to my cheeks "N-" "Nadia!" Ren and Ran yelled jumping up to hug her, she laughed and hugged them back.

"Nagisa, Rei this is Nadia Holowinsky, she's joining Itawobi after the break" I introduced them, Nagisa jumped up and stuck out his hand "Nagisa Hazuki" he said, she shook his hand and smiled, Rei stood up "Rei Ryūgazaki, pleasure to meet you" he said shaking her hand, she laughed "It's lovely to meet you all" she said before Haru approached her from behind, he tilted his head slightly, she turned around and smiled at him "You know instead of staring at me you could introduce yourself" she said, "Haruka Nanase" he said as he sat down, she nodded "Let me guess, you want to be called Haru?" She asked, his eyes widened a little and he nodded.

"Nadia! Will you take us swimming?!" The twins asked as they clung to her legs, she laughed and looked towards me, "If it's alright with Makoto" she said, I stood up and nodded "I'll come with you. They can be a handful" I say making them cheer and Ran jumped at me "Piggyback!" She yelled, I sighed and crouched down for her to climb on my back, she climbed on so I stood up to see Nadia had removed her lifeguard shirt revealing her one piece before she allowed Ren to climb on her back, we got into the water and watched the twins swim/splash each other, Nadia chuckled before diving under the water and resurfacing with Ran on her shoulders, "Makoto!" Ren yelled as Ran and Nadia splashed him, I put him on my shoulders.

Nadia's POV
"Prepare to loose boys" I say making Ran laugh as she splashed them, "I think you'll find it's you who will loose" Makoto said before Ren splashed us, after fighting each other "Ran, get ready to push Ren off Makoto shoulders" I whispered, she nodded before I made our way over to them, Ran began pushing Ren but he latched his hands on to her arms, "Give up Makoto. Your going to loose" I say as I began to help Ran pushing them into the water, he laughed before Ren fell off his shoulders into the water not without taking Ran with him making me fall into Makoto taking us all under water, we resurfaced laughing, I looked towards the beach to find most people leaving, "Come on, we better get you two dried off before it gets cold" I say to the twins, they awed as we took them back to the blanket.

We dried them off the best we could before putting their clothes on top, Ran was starting to shiver so I put my lifeguard shirt on top, she smiled and hugged me, "Ran, what are you doing?" Makoto asked, "Nadia gave me her shirt to keep me warm so I'm keep her warm" she said making me laugh, "I'm not cold, why don't you go play with your brother" I say, she looked up at me raising an eyebrow "Are you sure?" She asked, I nodded and she smiled before jumping up and joining her brother, something was put over my shoulders making me raise an eyebrow as I looked to see Makoto's Itawobi jacket, I smiled and pulled it closer.

"The twins seem to like you" he said, I nodded "I like them too, they're full of energy" I say, he laughed "You've got that right. You're pretty good with them" he said, "Well I've got triplets at home, two boys, one girl" I say, "I don't think I could deal with an extra one of them" he said making me laugh before he stood up and extended his hand, I took it and and he pulled me up, "Ren, Ran! We're leaving!" He called them over, they ran over and grabbed my legs making me wobble but Makoto steadied me, I smiled "Makoto! Can Nadia come to ours!?" Ren asked making me laugh, "I don't-" "Please" they begged grabbing his hands, he looked up at me, "I'm not doing anything" I say, he smiled and nodded making his siblings cheer as they held my hands.

By the time we reach Makoto's house, Ren had fallen asleep on Makoto's shoulder and Ran had fallen asleep on mine, I also managed to messaged my parents telling them I could be home late, "We're home" Makoto called out and his mum came around the corner and smiled as she saw me, "Who's your friend?" She asked, "Hi, I'm Nadia Holowinsky. It's nice to meet you" I say smiling, "Makoto, did you dump your brother and sister on this lovely girl?" She asked, "What? No, Ran and Ren went into the water without supervision and almost drowned, Nadia saved them" he explained, her eyes widened "Go put them in their beds so we can talk about this" she said, he nodded before leading me to their room.

I tucked Ran in and stood at Makoto's side "What about your shirt?" He asked, "Let her have it, I've got another three at home. And don't worry I'll bring Ren one so they don't argue" I say, he smiled as he closed their door "You're too kind, Nadia" he said before we went to his mother, she gave me a hug, "Thank you so much" she said taking me back a little, "Like I told Makoto, it's no worries, it's my job" I say as she pulled away, she smiled at Matoko "She's a keeper" she said, "Mum!" He said as he began to blush making me chuckle, "I should get going" I say, "Really? That's a shame. You're welcome here anytime, Nadia" she said, I smiled "I'll be sure to remember that, Miss Tachibana" I say, Makoto walked me to the door "Sorry about that" he said still red, I chuckled and went to take his jacket off but he stopped me "You can give it me back when I next see you" he said, I smiled before kissing his cheek "Thank you for today. It's been fun" I say before noticing him blushing even more, I smiled before leaving his house.
