Jonathan hated moving. He hated school more than moving, though, so he wasn't sure how to feel right now.

He had been sent to a school far away from his hometown, a small town somewhere in North Carolina. Jonathan didn't really know the exact place though, he had never paid attention to where he was. He never felt the need to do something like that. Back in his old town, everyone knew each other and knew where everything in town was. He could've walked himself down to the park and back with his eyes closed.

There's no way he would ever be able to do that shit here, though. This place was huge. A big, grand entrance room leading off to an auditorium, where he had been pushed into (literally pushed into) by staff members. Jonathan felt cramped and uncomfortable around the hundreds, possibly thousands of students also in here with him.

Some elegant looking lady had come up, and promptly began some long, drawn out speech. Jon would've liked to say he had listened, but he slowly got distracted by his thoughts.

His thoughts weren't anything special- just things like lunch and sleep, normal things for a 17 year old guy like him.

When he looked around, all he could notice were the marks on his hands, and the little scratches on his fingers from where he had tripped and tried to save himself from looking like a complete idiot.

He also noticed people beginning to stir, as the lady up front gestured towards the doors.

Coming to the conclusion that they were leaving, Jonathan began to follow everyone else out. He followed the crowd to some tables outside, where people were receiving keys, probably to their dorms.

"You there, in the blue hoodie! Come over here, I don't have all day!" A lady snaps at him, startling Jon enough to make him scurry over.

"Name?" She doesn't look too impressed when Jon just stands there without a word.

"J- Jon- Jonathan. Dennis, I mean," he forces out. He didn't know what was up with this lady, but she was kinda scaring him.

The lady grumbles something as she writes on a paper, then hands him a key. "You're in room 583. That's in the big red building, cant miss it." She shoos Jon off, yelling for some other person instead.

Jon just stumbles away, unsure about how to feel right now. Lost seemed to be the best way to explain it. And as most lost people do, he begins to wander around aimlessly.

When he comes to a lake, probably far off the school grounds, he smiles to himself and sits at the water's edge. Water had always made him feel at home, and to know there was such a big, beautiful lake nearby comforted him.

Then again, he did have water powers. Maybe that was why he liked it so much.

Jonathan laughs excitedly as he reaches forwards, sticking his hand into it. He pulls his hand up, watching as the water swirls around in the air. More water comes up, rising up into the air above the lake.

He had been about to shape it into something when a rustle in the bushes caught his attention. Turning his head towards the noise, Jonathan nearly faints when he sees a pair of bright yellow eyes staring at him.

When the mysterious creature lunges at him, Jon jumps back, heart pounding, screaming louder than he ever thought he could. With his concentration broken, the water all falls down to the ground, droplets spraying everywhere.
