Scars

18 2 1

I will turn those lines on her wrists

And thighs

From red

To white

To faded shadows

Of the past

When she gets those stomach aches

From not being able

To consume

I'll nourish her

And keep her healthy

When its cold outside

I'll be the shelter

That keeps her warm

And safe

When its dark

And she's alone

She won't be alone anymore

I'll catch her as she falls

I'll hold her as she cries

I'll make sure she sleeps

I'll give her courage

And strength

To see

Her own

Beauty

I will show her

How beautiful she is

I will make her smile

The smile

That lights up the world

Everyday

And she won't cry

Or hurt

Anymore

And I will love her

And her scars

As she has loved mine

Since the beginning of time
