Constellations

Our love was written in the stars

With Orion and Leo cheering us on

When we kissed that night we joined them in the sky

You made me feel alive

When Mercury went in retrograde

You ran away

Left me in this place all alone

I had no home away from home

You said the sun broke your heart 

And you looked in my eyes

And you missed the ground 

But I belong in the skies

You said goodbye

That was our last time

Pieces and I wept for a week

And I tried to stay strong 

But you were my everything

And you were gone

Until the moon came along

And he said

"Little girl,

Why such a sad face?

I know that he's gone 

But just wait and you'll see

That everything

Will be yours

You're a queen"

Then when you came back

I had a Heart attack

I thought that I had moved on

I didn't want you back and you said

"Baby girl

You've been staring at the ground

Waiting for me to come along

Out of that old tired town

Because you were mine all along"

I knew it wasn't right

I knew you had to go home

But you stayed for the night

So I wasn't alone

We saw Haley's Comet

And wished on a star

You kissed me goodnight

You healed all my scars

When the time had come

And I knew it would

You left without a word

But I wasn't hurt because

You aren't my true love

And we aren't meant to be

And these constellations

Are more than you and me

If we were written in the stars you wouldn't want the sea

If it was meant to be I wouldn't be happy inside my kingdom

With a new boy

I'm in love

Now you're an old song 

And that's alright

I have to admit

You still make me cry

But I don't need you

I'll heal my scars on my own

You were my everything

But now I am home
