Love these days is a satire
You fall so quickly
Say I love you so quickly
Do you even know what love is?
Have you ever felt the warmth in your chest when you see them?
Have you ever had tears in your eyes not knowing if they were safe or not?
Have you ever wished the air you breathed was theirs just so you could be closer to them?
When you laugh together
That's friendship
When you cry together
That's intimacy
When you wipe the tears off of that precious face
And kiss their cheek
Whisper to them that its gonna be okay
That's love
The love you seem to think is possible through messages that will be erased with the press of a button
Love that is as disposable as a soda can
Sometimes your love isn't even all the way emptied though
There's still something there
That no one cared for
So its thrown away
When you put your heart out there
That shows courage
When you say charming words
That shows hostility and fear
Fear to show the real you
Fear to be what someone could love
For no one falls in love with a pick up line
No one falls in love with a body
No one falls in love with a screenshot
So why do you think you know what it is to love?
This poem isn't too deep, it pretty much explains itself. Let me know if you liked it and what you guys think. Thank you! Much love xoxo
