Xayvion Taylor,
I looked at Bryce as she played with her necklace the whole way to the hospital.
Today they will be pulling the plug on her mom and it's really fight or die so I know she is nervous.
"I know this is a bad time but if we are to get married, who is walking you down the aisle?"
I know y'all like "why bring that up now? What you got planned Simba?" I don't have anything planned it just I know talking about our future wedding always relax her a little bit.
"You." She simply said stopping at the red light.
"Say what? I never heard of the groom walking the bride down the aisle."
"Me either but I don't really want a normal wedding. Even if my father was alive I would want you to walk me."
"Interesting."
"I don't even want to say normal vows. I want to say the vows from a corpse bride."
"You losing me now."
"When I very first seen the movie, I fell in love with the vows. They are so much better then the normal ones. Plus, I just like being different. Trying something new. I will have the normal white wedding dress and that's only because of my mom growing up she was always a fan of white wedding dresses and I guess it just rubbed off on me."
"I mean I ain't got a problem with it. My dad told me to always remember the saying "A happy wife is a happy life." For when I got married or even engaged, so whatever makes you happy I'm down for."
"I would have love to meet your dad."
"He would have loved you." I said looking at her as she parked the car.
She got my wheelchair out the truck and sat it near me and as I lifted myself out the car and into the wheelchair she grabbed Dula out the back. She sat him in my lap then closed all the doors and started pushing me and Dula near the entrance of the hospital.
"Hey." Momma said as they all stood in the waiting area. "You ready?" She asked Bry taking over my wheelchair.
"I have to be." Bry said before we walked to the elevator.
Once we made it to Ms. Jala room, doctors and nurses flooded in shortly after.
Bry gave her mom a kiss on the forehead before signing the papers that give thin permission to take her off life support.
A few minutes after they turned all the machines off but her heart monitor, her heartbeat slowed down then started beating normally.
"Look like she's a fighter." The Doctor said as her vitals went to as close as normal as they are going to get.
Bryce just looked at her mom as her eyes slowly started to open.
"Mom." Bryce said before hugging her very weak mom.
"Never thought I would hear Bry say mom." Liv whispered.
I couldn't help but smile at the sight. I'm just happy her mom is alive because God knows ain't nothing more sad then losing a parent so imagine losing two back to back.
***
After hours of talking to Ms. Jala and in forming her that she is now a widow and the proud mother of a future hairstylist and a active crawler everyone headed home so that she could get some rest.
