The happy ending always came on the last page. When she was little, she always dreamt of the last page of the story of her life. She wrote it very carefully. She made sure it didn't have any flaws. She fought through every chapter ignoring the hurt. She believed in the last page of the last chapter - where the happy ending was mentioned. It had to come to her. She had written it herself, and kept it safe with her until she had reached the last page.
Alison always wished for the ending of her story to be with Emily but the chapters are flawed and now she has to change that. But she gets through everything.
Alison POV
''My life won't have a Happy Ending''I say to Nate as I stare blankly at the ocean's waves.
''You haven't seen your last day yet. So how do you know your life doesn't have a happy ending? ''He answers I look at him and say
''I'm bound too, Every good thing in my life goes wrong and I don't want that to happen to you''
''That won't''he said and looks into my eyes. The boy's eyes were green but not the kind of shade that's easy to describe. It was almost like they were both green and yellow at the same time, with blue creeping in around the edges as if it were trying to take over. He blinked and the beauty was momentarily covered by the shield of his eyelashes; naturally long and soft looking - feminine compared to the rest of his well structured features. By the time the boy's eyes opened again, I had still not recovered from his intense stare. It was a stare that communicated the boy's former pain, and his wish for me to let go and to move on.The way his lips lifted upward. The way his one dimple crinkles. The way his teeth are perfectly aligned. The warm glow his happiness gives. His smile is a ray of sunshine, and I am a sunburn.
3rd Person POV
The fresh grassy green color swirled into an Atlantic blue as he gazed at her. As she stared she could feel herself become hypnotized by the changing colors. He smiled and spots of gold danced in his irises and grew to swallow the blue...
''You know you're really kind don't you''
''Why you say that'''
''I've told you the worst about me and you love me more''she said circling her belly and instinct she got.
''Because there's no such thing as perfect. You're probably feeling like you know me by now, getting a feeling for who I am, what my background might be. But you don't know, not really. I'll tell you things about me later on, things no-one else knows just to show you that I've made mistakes too, that I can get angry, feel vengeful and hate. I'll show you my own darkness. I haven't been "fully awake" since childhood, that's over 18 years of "sleeping," plenty of time to make mistakes, have regrets. I still make errors in fact, but I'm learning to reduce them bit by bit. Knowing more doesn't make you perfect, on the contrary, it shows you just how imperfect you are and how much there is to work on. But I digress, as is in my nature, I was about to make an introduction of sorts... but you look like you want to ask a question''
''I want to know if you'll still love me with this baby in me''He places his hand over hers on her belly and smiled.
''As long as it's a part of you I'd love it like my own''The corners of her mouth lift up into a smile and it hurts because of the cut she got biting on her swelling lip but she doesn't care. She lets her smile widen into a brilliant grin that has Nate beaming at her. She's laughing now, feeling absolutely delirious.
''You're amazingly beautiful''she said hugging him until tears start to flow.He wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her close, gently rubbing her arm. Despite the heaviness in her stomach, it fluttered at the feeling of her body pressed against his. She sunk into the warmth of his side, appreciative of the simple gesture. His touch made the room warmer somehow, her future within its walls seeming a little less bleak.
