My mum put me down in front of the mansion door. I smiled lightly, even though the nervousness was trying to break free. Facing my family was the most terrifying feeling I had ever felt. With a heavy heart, My mum pushed the door open, holding my shoulder as we walked in.
I was met the sad eyes of my father. As I passed, he didn't look at me, he just turned his head to the floor, not baring to look at me. I could just see out of the corner of my eye, my mum putting her soft hand on his shoulder, smiling weakly. "Dan, we must" she said softly.
My father nodded before following us to the throne room. A guard opened the door, guiding us inside. I met the eyes of my grandfather and grandma. They looked at me, ashamed. My grandmother AKA the queen, ran out of the room, I guessed the pressure of loosing her only grandchild was too much for her. "Dearest, from all age groups, our most loved and only grandchild, will die tomorrow on the rising of the burning son. If anyone has a possible cure for Fangless, please speak now"
My eyes watered up with tears as no-one made a slight sound. How could it end like this? How?! My tears fell as I heard my grandfather speak the most terrifying words I have ever heard him say "The date is set for Lee's death, is sealed" I ran out quickly, pushing the doors out of my face. I could just imagine my mothers eyes swelling up with tears, pushing her face into my fathers strong chest. My cold tears flew in the air as I ran to my room, closing the door.
I put my back to its hard wooden frame as I sunk to the soft carpet, multiple drops flowing down my warm cheek. I put my hands to my face as I cried and sniffled loudly, slowly walking towards my bed. I opened the drawer and took out my family album, looking at multiple pictures of my past. I looked and saw me as a tiny baby in my mums arms, our eyes blended together perfectly. Also one was me in my first school dress, that horrible day when I got trampled by 6yr olds. I chuckled at the slight thought. Another was me pinning my father down when I was 12 years old, my first battle practise. I looked again at me paying at the counter for my bonbons for the first time ever. Lastly was me hugging my whole family, every single one of them.
At the last page, there was no pictures just words reading " My lovely daughter Lee.
Photography by Dan Royals"
Who knew my father was a talented photographer? I closed the book and kissed the cover. I never knew this would be how things end for me. I hugged my pillow when I heard a soft knock on the door. I quickly wiped the tears before saying "Come in" My mother walked in. She was always there for me whenever I felt sad or lonely. She came up to me slowly, before hugging me tightly. "Mum, I wanted to ask you something. Two things really"
"Anything for you Lee"
I gulped before raising my voice " Do you want me to well, die?"
"Of course not! Never!"
"And, well..., who will be like... the one to execute me?"
My mums throat went dry before saying the one of the worst sour words anyone has said "Me"
I pushed myself away from the person I used to trust, looking at her with anger.
"You! Of all people you! Your worst of them all!"
"Lee! I didn't agree to this! You know I wouldn't actually...."
"I don't care what you have to say! Get out! GET OUT!"
"Lee! Please understand! Lee..."
"I SAID GET OUT! I HATE YOU! HATE YOU!"
I saw her get up and walk out closing the door. As it shut, I swelled up with tears again, stomach aching. "Why..." I cried, squishing the pillow to my wet face.
