The Evolved Vampire: Fangless (Book 2)

Attack!!!

We stared as the army slowly came closer to the mansion, the loud sounds of marching filling the still air. I climbed off the stone table only to look deeply into Kenneth's eyes, warning him to abort the attack. I was only replied by his cunning smirk that stretched across his smooth face. My hands burned with fury, flickering lights of blue slowly growing in my palms.

Before I could attack, the royal army stomped their way in front of the mansion, protecting its gates. The king signalled my mother with stern eyes before she ran off the cliff and made the huge jump to the front lines of the army. My mum really was powerful! My father kissed my forehead and jumped off after her, digging his feet into the hard grass as he landed.

I looked at the king with hopeful eyes. He nodded at me before saying "Good to have you back Lee, just be careful! Your not in vampire state yet!"

I smiled at him "Don't worry, my gifts have grown, I think I've found a new one. I've been practising it secretly. You'll see!"

I concentrated and a blood red Rose with a crown seal glowed beneath my feet, transporting me next to my mum, giving her a warm hug. She quietly whispered "Don't leave us again." I replied with a soft "No worries! I wasn't planning on it!" We smiled before we heard the king shout out to the army before us.

"Kenneth! All of you! This is your last chance to turn around and leave us in peace, we will spare you. All of you have my word."

Non of them moved. The king waved his hand in a special way before shouting "It shall be done!" He moved his hands in unison before the ground itself split in half. it shook wildly, tumbling the opposition on their feet. Who knew the king could control the earth. With the final shake, the royal army sprinted its way towards Kenneth and his large group of rogue vampires.

They were stunned and vulnerable. We dived into them, crushing them at our feet. Me, mum and dad fought together. It was my turn now. A rogue vampire sprinted it's way towards me, fists flying through the air. I held my hand up, eyes closed shut. I felt something snap inside me, and a large snake pounced in front of him, wrapping itself around his upper arm section. I turned away and threw a large flame ball at a girl who was sneaking behind my mum while she was too busy ripping the head off another outcast.

Even though I was weaker than a soldier in the royal army by physical abilities, my mental and magical ones shone out the best. A guy behind me grabbed one of my arms and squeezed it tight, it started burning painfully. He managed to stop the blood supply from entering my arm. Big Mistake. With just a thought, a blood red eagle swooped down, sharp talons aiming sharply at the mans chest.

In a matter of seconds, it caught him painfully and started ripping his insides out of him, killing him quickly and precisely. When it had finished it gave me that "I will come when you call" look before disappearing in the clouds.

I looked around and smiled. We were winning, what could go wrong?.....
