Bellamy

"O, how did the interviews go?"

Octavia, my beloved little sister, handed me a pile of applications.

"Pretty well," she said.

"You don't expect me to go through all of these now, do you?"

She punched my arm. "C'mon Bell, I know you are lazy but once you are the owner of such a huge and serious business, there can't be laziness."

I would do anything for her, even die. She was all the family I had, and we had worked so hard to be where we were now. It was hard to believe that there was a time that we couldn't afford dinner.

Without thinking, I pulled her into a tight embrace. I try and act tough, but O was my weakness. Never could I forgive myself is something happened to her.

I remember I used to give her my share of food because I didn't want her to be hungry. As her brother, it was my job to protect her, and I would hold on to that job.

I made a promise to my mother.

"Bellamy? What's on your mind?" Octavia mumbled from my neck. She wrapped her arms around me.

"I was just thinking of all the shit we went through the get where we are today."

"But we are here, aren't we? That's all that matters," she stroked my stiff gel hair. "And we still have each other."

She pulled away and added, "plus, you need to ease up on the gel."

I pretended to be offended. "Excuse you, but those curls just don't do me any favors."

"But they make you look way more attractive. Also I noticed all the girls chasing you anyway, looks like I have to stand on watch with a stick like you used to when I was little."

"Well, there were guys after you-"

"And you were just trying to protect me. I know."

Reaching into my pocket, I pulled out a little box and handed it to Octavia.

"What's this?" She questioned curiously, taking the box. She opened and and gasped.

A pair of diamond stud earrings rested delicately on the velvet inside of the box.

"Bell, what's this for?" She said tearfully.

"Well, speaking of guys, I know I can't keep you away from them forever." I motioned to the earrings. "I wanted to be the the first guy to give you diamonds."

"Bellamy...thank you..." A single tear fell down her face. Using my finger, I wiped it away.

She jumped into my arms again. "I love you."

"I love you too."

O slipped off her current earrings, replacing them with the new studs. "I will treasure them forever."

"So we have seven office workers, one technician, and two accountants that were interviews," she listed, putting the tip of her pen in her mouth.

"Hire the technician, we may need them. Computers are always going bust for some reason." I groaned at how my own one had beeped and turned off the same morning.

Octavia placed a tick next to the technicians name.

"I think out of the office workers, I'll hire Wells, because he seems to have extensive knowledge on the stock market," she examined.
