Clarke

My feet thud on the forest floor as I ran through my fears and anxiety. I decided to go for a midnight run, yes I understand that it's hella dangerous at night.

I had basically set myself up for a classic rape and murder scene in the forest. But in the moment, the clarity it gave me meant the world to me.

Bellamy had not contacted me at all, and I needed something to take my mind off him. Maybe the fear of being killed at night would make me forget about him.

Even if it was just for a little while.

Out of breath and sweaty as hell, I held onto a tree trying to catch my breath. The cool midnight breeze swept the clingy hair away from my face. The soft sounds of creatures rustling around should've been scary, but in a stark contrast, was calming almost.

The moon was full and round. I heard a distant voice. Oh so familiar.

I sprinted through a similar reserve, laughing under the broad daylight guiding my way.

The sun was significantly bright that beautiful spring day. The flowers were scattered across the overgrown path, an assortment of pinks and yellows.

The trees protected my delicate skin from the harsh ultra violet rays of the sun, yet it still kissed my blonde hair with love and warmth.

My dad yelled at me from behind. "I'm coming to find you! I have a feeling I'm closer now!"

I hid in a hollow overhang made of twigs and moss, concealing myself in the undergrowth of mother nature herself. I tried hard to clasp my mouth and combat the giggle threatening to reveal my location.

My dad's head popped down upside down from the top of the little overhang. "Found you ya little rascal!"

I laughed as he dragged me out and tickled me, then picked me up carefully and placed me on his strong shoulders.

"How do you always find me?" I asked him suspiciously.

"I'm magical duh."

"Shush I mean for real!" I whined purposely to annoy him.

"We have a special connection," he explained. "My love always leads me to you my beautiful daughter. I love you."

I couldn't see his face from where I was propped up, but I know it was setimental.

"I love you too dad."

The scene had taken place in full daylight, where the truth was visible for all to see. But on a night like this, there is a lie hidden in every dark undergrowth and corner.

I cry all the way home, Bellamy even overruled the thought of losing my life tonight.

The office was the one place that made me the most anxious. I wasn't sure what stupid excuse Bellamy had, but it could not be worse than how he made me feel.

My heart still grasped onto the hope that maybe he forgot or had an emergency, but deep down I knew he would've said something if that was the case.

Every step was a step closer to the truth and that was terrifying.

The office was buzzing with life, I took my place at the desk but nothing would've prepared me for what I saw next.

Bellamy walks in with his arm around Lexa, smiling and laughing with her. Everyone watches in awe at the beaming couple.

Out of everyone he could have chose he chose Lexa? You have got to be fucking kidding me.

My heart flew to the roof, did a backflip, and landed straight through the floor breaking my spine in the process. I felt like I could barely stand, everything was woozy.

"Clarke? Are you ok?" Jasper frowned.

His voice seemed to blur in the background. White noise.

I marched into his office after them and waited at the door, until after Lexa came out.

When she did she was glowing. "Can you believe Bellamy asked me on a date? I can't believe this is actually happening!"

I glared at her and then remembered she didn't know about my relationship with Bellamy. I quicky shifted my expression into a smile. "That's great Lexa."

"I know," she smiled softly and skipped away.

My anger was at boiling point when I burst into the room. "What the hell Bellamy. You didn't show up yesterday and now this?"

"Someone's a feisty cat today," he stated baldly, seated at his desk.

"Of course I am! And your a stupid pig!" I face palmed mentally at my unstable and childish choice of words.

Bellamy calmly looked at me with his dazzling brown eyes. "So you can do whatever you like but I can't?"

"I never said that? How did this come into this?"

"Face it Clarke, you can't make up your mind."

"What on Earth are you babbling about?" I exclaimed.

He stared at me coldly when someone knocked on the door. He motioned towards it.

"You know what? Fine. I don't give a shit about you or what you do anymore."

"Good."

I placed my hands on his desk and for once I dominated the scene instead of him. I leaned in real close to his face.

He raised his head when he realized what was happening. His face dropped slightly and he looked like he was about to say something.

But it was my turn this time.

"I quit." I slapped the folder on his desk and walked out.
